New scanner
Scanner that scans planets, ships, bases, and credits. t20 or so.
Much much better than having to carry 4 different scanners around.

I would actually like it to have t10, t15, and t20 variations. With stats that increase as you go higher tech.
A t21 version is fine too.

A t21 version is fine too. What would a T10 version require .. this should be high end only, the nublets can deal with alternating between 3 scanners for now. :L

Well, I prefer to make things as intuitive and player-friendly as possible. I would prefer to just do away with all the current scanners and have multi-scanners at various techs.

This would replace the need for other scanners and the notion of "bring the right tool for the right job" would be entirely gone. C'mon, can you really not just go and get what you need when you need it? Unless the downside is that it's incredibly huge and/or uses more elec than it takes to power a city, I say nay.

I actually already carry a ship, a credit and a planet scanner with me. I thought it would be more convenient if they only took up one hotkey, because I never remember which is which.
I suppose size would be the downside then, but far from "incredibly huge". It would be the sum of its parts, maybe with 5% taken off.
It would be fine if we could somehow drop all of the scanners on a single hotkey, and the game would pick the correct one based on what you target.

I have 3 different scanners taking up 3 different hotkeys. It would make sense, logically, to want to reduce these to a single hotkey. But there are only 2 ways to do that. Either we make them all into a single item, or we add multi-item functionality to hotkeys.
