Re: Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Event
I killed a Bat, and then it said it needed a heal. I recently did an event where we had to defend against Centaur raids, there were quite a few people so there were a lot of Centaurs. My AoE attacks worked incredibly well against them, Meteor Storm + Arcane Wave (thingy), each wave died in seconds. Made me feel awesome.

Re: Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Event
I love doing the "pack bull" missions and then using my warhorn to speed everyone up by 33%. Makes everything go by well... 33% faster for everyone.

I don't really recall anyone buffing on my side, typically everyone just DPS'd, I don't blame them though with the very very odd barrier thrown in, I think I only saw 4 of them in the entire test. They probably didn't bother for the same reason I didn't, there were so many people all over the place there wasn't a need to do anything besides DPS, even for the low end bosses. But I only did PvE, I imagine PvP was different . Anyways, here's my planned Elementalist build, what do you guys think of it? Basically, the idea is to deal most of my DPS through crits (consequently causing a lot of conditions for DOT or crippling the enemy), have a decent amount of tankability and not to focus on a single attunement so I can spread the bonuses around for versatility. I'm not really sure how precision works though, and knowing how it's calculated would make a big difference . I'll probably do Sc/D when solo, and a Staff for an AoE / group focus.

http://www.gw2builds.org/create/bwe_1/w ... 4.3.4.10.7Here's my build. It does absolutely horrid damage, but the amount of support it gives to allies is immense. Everyone in the area gets regeneration (with all of the banners down it's approximately 1,000 health per second) allies do more damage from the trait along with the banners, they get 50% more endurance, and move 33% faster (well, for ~17 seconds, then there's a 3 second cooldown). Oh, and I auto-rez people with the Battle Standard.

Re: Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Event
That looks like an awesome build for large groups . Have you only tried the Warrior profession so far?

Re: Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Event
How was playing a Mesmer? Were the illusions any fun? For the next BWE I know I'm definitely going to at least try to play a little bit on a Mesmer char - though I love Elementalist too much right now to not continue playing it!

Re: Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Event
I only played until level ~8, and currently the Ilusionary Leap skill is bugged. It's definitely one of the harder classes because it's more complex.

Re: Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Event

Chaosking3 wrote: Is it that easy to reach end game or does the beta weekend get you there auto? In sPvP (structured PvP) you are temporarily levelled to max (80). In WvWvW (3 servers pitted against each other that includes huge battles of 50+ people defending and attacking keeps in order to bring glory to their server) and PvE you must level to 80 yourself, which is probably going to take two weeks on nonstop play. However, GW2 is very "endgame" centered and as as such there will be a large amount of higher levelled content. You must also remember that if you enter a lower levelled area, you will be scaled down in stats/level so that it's still a fun (although easier than first time through because of traits/gear). And oh lawd is the map huge.

ellinium wrote: Is it like WoW? Yes and no. Is it better than WoW? I can't think of a single instance in which WoW outdoes GW2. Unless you like the trinity of tank/damage/heal and standing place spamming hotkeys. Oh by the way, people are speculating that the next beta weekend will be in a week or two. It's definitely something that should be tried out. I just can't play any games now because they don't really compare. :/
