why support ron paul?
ron paul, and congressmen like him, are the reason nothing gets done in congress. but is that really a bad thing? look at the last 50 years of US history, have the changes been good? or bad? who has been behind these changes? compare the USA to other countries with similar language and culture, like australia, new zealand, and the UK why would australia, in the middle of nowhere, that noone cares about, be so successful? is it that australia has something the US doesnt? or does the US have something australia doesnt? does australia "not have" this "thing" because noone gives a shit about it, because it has no power, because there is nothing to gain through controlling it? why does ron paul get ignored by mainstream media despite his success at capturing a demographic which conservatives normally have no chance with? to put it another way, why is the republican establishment throwing away their best chance at beating obama at his own game? maybe they dont care about freedom, maybe they care about their own power, maybe bush wasnt retarded, maybe he was doing exactly what they wanted him to do, and doing a damn good job at fooling people into thinking he just "failed" his way into passing the patriot act and starting two wars. why is every conservative viewpoint, except the rational one, supported by both sides of the media? would it not benefit the liberal media to push ron paul's message to undermine the republicans? would it not benefit the republicans for FOX to push ron paul's message? under normal conditions, it would. unquestionably. so then the only reasonable explanation is that these are not normal conditions. the differences show the truth, ron paul cannot be controlled. he works to reduce presidential power, to reduce government control. he does what the "right" claims to want to do, and yet the "right" does not support him. doesnt that tell you something about what the "right" really wants, and is working towards? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-3-WTcNqkAdont trust the left, dont trust the right. trust the guy who holds to his promises and holds to the constitution. if both sides want to bury ron paul, perhaps it is because they recognise him as a threat to their control. so why support ron paul? because the media doesnt. the military industrial complex doesnt. if you're tired of the puppet show, stop voting for puppets.

Ceno wrote: So.. whats the point of this post? when i make points, people tend to miss them, you're meant to read it and think ron paul is a doctor, he supports the ending of the war on drugs. he knows the dangers of drugs, far better than any of the other candidates. and he supports legalisation and taxation. so do the other candidates want to continue the war on drugs because they're retarded? or because the war on drugs serves another purpose? you can either beleive that people are astoundingly stupid, or you can recognise that the best "veil" for malice, is stupidity. noone suspects the retard. we laugh at the politicians, in disbeleif at their incompetence, but what if thats what they want us to do? think about the "GTA: san andreas" mission where you plant drugs in some guy's car and call the police on him. simple, right? whats to stop the federal government doing it? how much profit do you think organised crime makes from drug sales, thanks to massively inflated prices resulting from prohibition? what if people decided to use that money to "secure" their income, by keeping certain drugs prohibited, even when it has become obvious to most of the population that prohibition isnt working, and there are better solutions?

I mean you didnt even post a TL;DR. its not. this thread really only applies to americans, and people influenced by US foreign policy. at least, i guess it could make you glad that the netherlands is one of the few countries in the world that actually takes a rational approach to the problem of drug abuse, organised crime and corruption

Re: why support ron paul?
The war on drugs is all about money now. If you owned a few dozen prisons would you want drugs to be legal and taxed?
Also, Ron Paul is ignored by the GOP because he represents how the party was during the time of their apparent savior, Ronald Reagan. The current party is just too afraid to admit that they do not resemble that republican party at all anymore.
And is Australia really a success, with all the censorship and religious fueled law making going on? Maybe in some area's but it fails in others.

Re: why support ron paul?
In the end landswimmer, it's pointless anyways. The public doesn't actually elect the president, the electoral college does. And that's probably not going away and you sure as hell know why. Kinda obvious really. You can easily see who's going to win beforehand by who looks like they'd be elected. There was a whole thing on it when Obama was elected. Something to the effect of "Is looking presidential part of being elected". Something like that, crapped out on trying to remember halfway through, oh well. But seriously, look at Bush. Lost the popular vote. If anything I'd say he was meant to win but they shocked him by making their move without telling him. They're not even in the know anymore. They're not even puppets. They're just there to react when the big guys do something. They're not even just there to react, it's more like they just dump someone there so they can't do anything and the position is filled. I'd love to see Ron Paul win the popular vote, just to show how far the people on top are willing to go. It's like sopa, shot down but it revealed the true intents, didn't it?

Re: why support ron paul?
The democrats and republicans are corrupt parties that spend large amounts of tax money on wars, risky/failing businesses, and keeping their pockets full of cash.
Both are to blame for our massive debt. Both are to blame for all the wars. Both are to blame for screwing with our country.
And the people who do give a damn about the country are collectively too small and weak to do anything about the corrupt officials.
It's just going to take a revolution, whether civil or militarily, whether external or internal, to change the government.
