The patch before the Easter patch YOU broke sync and uni map loading.
Yeah, you added shiny new visual elements, but broke GAME PLAY!
I, and dozens of others, hoped this would be fixed with the Easter patch, but NO!

You added MORE shiny elements to SS, but you still haveny fixed what you broke.
9 minutes to load a uni map EVERY TIME i log on at 5 different computers.
the only way to reliably dock at a moving playerbase is in a docking augged EFDN. Travel ships (2caly2hera DS for example) are COMPLETELY useless.

This, my Easter content and Aurora's changes to missiles etc are nothing to do with code issues that you are experiencing.

Jey fixed factories to how they are meant to work given the design, not breaking them (unless he changed something else I'm unaware of)

This isn't the first time base docking has been broken. Last time it took forever to fix too. This time it seems to be a combination of desyncing and the strange 3D element in the game.

I am only guessing that it is desyncing because many times log off and log on then quickly dock is the only way to dock with my base.

Strange 3D stems from an observance that some bases are isntalled higher up on a planet. Above the flat world we are held to most of the time. But this higher "elevation for lack of a better term" (more like a bump in flatland continuum) makes it really hard to get the ship at the right "elevation" to dock.

The issue is, and this is the good part.....
It worked before they broke it!
Before the patch before last Uni map loading and docking/sync worked perfectly. Then, a patch to add some cool new stuff, especially when docked at a base, only thing is, after patch impossible to dock for some ships to see the shiny new shit.
Stop making excuses for the dev team, and have them fix the shit they break before they add new shit...

You need to understand the content devs and code devs are independent to some degree. Just because the content devs get things added in it doesn't mean that they have the know how to fix most of the problems in the code.

For example: that's like having a custodian fix a nuclear reactor just because his co-worker is a nuclear engineer.

Yes, Jey was most put out with me when I broke all the things and caused a RB. He's still not forgiven me, and is most suspicious of all my changes.




Content devs only add shiny things, we don't add code:

Pecking Order of SS team

• Jeff
• Jey, HAL & other coders
• People who can do math
• Content devs who don't break things
• Content devs who break all the things

The truth is that if we (content) need to do something that's not currently possible we hound, beg, ambush & heckle coding devs to add it in ~ and sometimes that takes a bit of time. None of the new content actively breaks things: it might not work due to technical hiccups (Strontium: I'd asked a tag to do something that it couldn't do, which was stupid of me, so we required a new tag, which HAL made in record time), but it won't effect the core of the game.


tl;dr



Jeff / Jey / HAL etc are very, very, very aware of the issues, and work hard to fix them ~ all the coders regularly put in 4 - 6 am nights when there's a new patch. Doesn't help when content devs break stuff, either.

if gameplay is broken, and yes, the inability to dock at a playerbase attached to a moving planet is broken, NO CONTENT until problem is fixed.
WTF am i supposed to do in a SS to dock at my forge. My SS is on top of the f'ing forge but cant dock because i'm too far away.
Granted, my big fat 100mil weight SS is sooo big and fat i cannot see my forge, as i am on top of it, perhaps my forge warped away while i was getting ready to dock at it. but prolly it is just that the fucking game is broken.

what are we supposed to do if we need to dock for fuel because a gal is under attack. we have to re-log several times in some cases to dock, get fuel then AP to a battle where a teams livelyhood is at stake, only we cant....
we had to relog and have to wait 5 minutes for the map to show the fuck up....
and i know, there will be a whole slew of "IT'S NOT MY PROBLEMS" generated by this. is there no one that can/will take ownership of a problem. i assume there should be, as someone is available to take ownership of the $ i pay for 8 subs every month.
How about providing some CUSTOMER SERVICE, and FIX THE GAME!
