Armada Ambush Drones leak energy & can't be charged
Armada Ambush Drones leak energy & can't be charged when deployed.
I've been trying to use some Armada Ambush drones in the UZ only to see that when I drop them they are NOT fully charged and in fact are leaking energy at about -27 per tick.
I tried to use my T14 Energy xfer beam on them to no avail. (Well ONCE I was able to fully charge one but never again) (My ship when fully charged has over 160K energy and it was full when I tried to charge the AA drones.)
The only way I could charge them was to scoop and redeploy once they were fully charged.

They are designed that way and have always been that way, so this isn't a bug.

Re: Armada Ambush Drones leak energy & can't be charged
Strap a Sup Firing controller to ship, power-able drones with potential for extreme burst dps? There was two ways for the admins to handle it.
They could either nerf the drone so you either had a very large drone, contrary to "Ambush" means, or you'd have a drone that doesn't actually ambush because the dps was too low.
Or the admins could do what they did and make the drone constantly leak elect.
The other way pretty much makes them a Titan Drone+ with a short range non ethereal OHL.
I don't want to spend 500m-1bil credits on a drone thats only marginally better than a titan.....

Who in their right mind would design a T20 drone that MORONICALLYThat drone is designed to be amazing, and it is amazing just how it is right now. The drones are extremely useful in some PvP situations, and in many PvAI situations, and after all they are "Ambush" drones, which means you use them to Ambush AI.

And AMBUSH implies lie in wait... only the MORONIC AMBUSH DRONES would be fully discharged before any AI comes into range.

It's just -21 EPS it's not like they run out of energy in 10 seconds...

Bonecrusher wrote: And AMBUSH implies lie in wait... only the MORONIC AMBUSH DRONES would be fully discharged before any AI comes into range. You need to look up the meaning of an Ambush. Ambush means you surprisingly attack swiftly, it does in no way mean that you have to lie and wait. So what you are saying there isn't true. And if you have to lie and wait for AI to come in range, then don't deploy the drones until they are in range? Armada Ambush drones would be broken if they were given energy recharge, and they are just fine and very useful the way they are. So no this is not a bug, but I guess you can send a ticket and have some Dev or Admin tell you the exactly same Bonecrusher.

Re: Armada Ambush Drones leak energy & can't be charged
Armada Ambush Drones have an inbuilt augmenter with -100% energy regen. They are not designed to regenerate energy and this is not a bug.
