Re: Help with monitor
Its not related to ss, its related to hardware or whatever. The monitor doesnt display any image once I turn on the pc but on my TV it does.

Is it unplugged? Loose connection from pc to monitor? Did you try a different input cable? DVI is white, VGA is blue, skinny and metal is HDMI, circular is S-Video(ew) Does your graphics card/monitor have an option for a different input? ex: If you normally use DVI, try using a VGA cable etc. Is there a "source" or "input" or "src" button you can press? Might have just been switched off the correct input mode.

NO Is the monitor turned on? YES Is it unplugged? NO Loose connection from pc to monitor? NO, unplugged and plugged everyhting back (even the graphics card) Did you try a different input cable? DVI is white, VGA is blue, skinny and metal is HDMI, circular is S-Video(ew) NO, as I dont have any other, just VGA cables (tried 2 vga cables, one from a friend and the one that I have) and didint work. Does your graphics card/monitor have an option for a different input? ex: If you normally use DVI, try using a VGA cable etc. only VGA Is there a "source" or "input" or "src" button you can press? Might have just been switched off the correct input mode. This might sound silly but on the monitor its all on touch pads, theres menu, a few up and down buttons, auto and turn on/off :/. The monitor acts as if it was working all right and stuff, also the PC recognizes it as working but there is nothing on the monitor its like the lights died that light it up...

Re: Help with monitor
If it's an older flat panel, the inverted might have gone out. You can test by turning it on and off, and it might flash once with a white light. Also, try the "Auto" button, that should cycle through the different modes.
Also, how did you connect it to your TV? With VGA cables?

Re: Help with monitor
If you press the menu button on the monitor while you can confirm that it is powered on.. and it doesn't appear.. (or if your monitor normally outputs a no signal display and it doesn't display) aka pure blank screen.
Congratulations. you need to replace your monitor.
In any case, If it's past 3 years.. it's out of warranty.

Re: Help with monitor
If you turn on the monitor without it being connected to the PC and it gives you a "no display" error, the display is fine, might have something to do with the VGA connection on the monitor end.
Since it only has a VGA connection, that means it's at least 4 years old. Which probably means the inverter has gone bad if it was heavily used. If there is no display at all whatsoever, no text or anything, it's probably the inverter. You can replace it yourself if you're a technical person and they aren't too expensive($15-$30 sometimes), but it's probably easier to just buy a new monitor.

My father wants to send it for repairs or something. Either that or buying a new one :/. EDIT: Just put the power cord and nothing else, turned it on and no signal or anyhting appeard so yeah, its dead....
