No such thing as account theft Gij. There is only one person that is the current subscriber of an account, and that is the rightful owner.

Unless you can prove that the last 2 subscription times was you, then the current payer is the owner. If you decide on doing year long subs, save the receipt emails onto a flash drive.

Nothing like taking an account from someone who has to search for a 2 year old email. People don't normally keep emails for that long!

Archive Emails! I have emails from years and years ago. Pretty damn handy in the off chance something went wrong.

I am the current Support Admin and as of yet I haven't had any cases dealing with Account thievery. I take every ticket on a case by case basis though, but most of the time I defer to the current policies that are already in place. Current policy would be examining the subscription history and looking at the last few subscriptions and making a judgement call based on that. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them in a PM, or a support ticket if you believe you might be a victim of account theft.

Not true, here comes straight text from license agreement:

Quote:
All accounts and in-game credits, ships, bases, items and everything else within the game are the property of Star Sonata. Paying for a subscription does not imply legal ownership of the account or anything contained or associated with that account. In cases where multiple parties claim the right to access an account, Star Sonata reserves the right to settle the dispute in whichever way we think is correct.

You are on about the wrong thing. Legal ownership means ownership above Star Sonatas ownership. If two parts claims ownership, then Voomy and the current way of doing it, is checking who subbed it last, so that still stands until Bageese or someone makes a new updated post.

No, You are at the wrong thing. It's said at first that all accounts belong to Star Sonata and it can't be argued. Then it say that if multiple parties claim the right to the account, SS can solve this matter in a way they think it is right.

Now think, does it have any sense that Star Sonata would have right to settle who has right to the account: Player or Star sonata? Nope, it doesn't.
It's being a judge on your own process. Sounds completely hilarious and collides with previous sentence that all accounts belongs to Star Sonata.
It's exactly about situation where 2 players pretend to be the 'owner'(still under SS general ownership).
License agreement is not some sort of readme file, its a contract between you and Star Sonata and I'm quite positive that player can rise a lawsuit and fight on judicial way to get revision of 'whose-is-this-account' process

Sybir is correct. It seems that we have contradicting rules.

What I said about legal ownership might be wrong, but when Voomy says this...

Quote:
When you allow someone to pay for your subscription you put yourself at risk of losing your entire account. The person paying for it counts as the owner and can have the password and email changed.

... as the current support manager at the time, and Bageese has not made any post/announcement to change this, then this is what still counts.

So I don't see why what I wrote in my first post is wrong then, and Bageese did not correct me either on it. Until she corrects me, then the referring I did to Voomys post stands as correct.

Which is what they're doing...?

If you're trying to say the player owns the account because of what's said after, they don't, Star Sonata does. By subscribing you're only paying for a service, SS still retains the rights to who gets access to what, in this case accounts.
