Post Drag and drop
When you are transferring more items than can fit in the target hull:
Allow right-click + drag to transfer as many as possible.

NO dialogue box.

I'd rather have such a feature open a dialog box with "transfer how many," and the max number listed as default.

What I'd like to see is transfer some for all selected. So when I'm setting up bases and putting one of each dampener and one energy, shield, weapon on them I can do it all in one command.

Post Re: Drag and drop
currently its a bit buggy but work to transfer from a ship to a base.

to transfer 1 of each of your selection, select everything, click to drag it, and before releasing the click over your base inventory, press and hold shift. Having the shift key pressed cause it to transfer 1 of each (was added especially to make base building slightly easier), although i discovered some bugs in it that cause it to not work in every scenarios. Most of which will be fixed in the next beta/release client.

I was looking more at ship/ship transfers... Does it work for that too? Edit: It does. Cool.

But this isn't really what I was looking for. I want to transfer as many items as possible until my hull is filled. Perhaps holding the Ctrl button would work for that?

Nope. Say my storage has 100 space oats and 2,000 rats. My ship's hull is 300.

When I drag one or both of them, only the oats will transfer and the rats will get "Short on space by 1800" even if my ship has room for 200.

Shift-drag works for me, but only when the item was not previously selected. Dragging of any kind also seems to fail if you're moving things to a ship that's too far down the list.

I meant shift-drag to transfer some :P Don't know why it'd be like that, feels like it should be for me anyway.
