Sunless Solar
They unlocked the secret to harnessing solar energy — at any time, from any window! This technology is so efficient and affordable, electric companies are already shaking in their boots. http://www.angelnexus.com/o/web/33084?r=1

This guy started trying to sell me shit >.< Obviously.. it is an awesome project, and the dude wants money to develop it .. to become a billionaire 3 years later. Even though some of the things he stated are obviously unrealistic... it surely is something that would help with the thirst of energy.

Re: Sunless Solar
I don't believe the concept though;
Spray on 'film' - how would the energy collected in that be inter connected and then be transferred towards appliances?
How would it remain stuck to the window?
How would such a film be efficient AND be weather proof?
How would it be 300% more efficient than other solar devices?

Re: Sunless Solar
a site which has a popup to stop you leaving when you want to, says it all plus there are so many flaws with this aparent currently existing technology mainly what dow said =P

Re: Sunless Solar
I have 17 tabs open right now, so I am not that impressed.
anywayQuote: The law of conservation of energy states that energy may neither be created nor destroyed. SURE, you could maybe make solar panels so efficient that they can power a bulb, and take energy from that bulb to power it continuously forever, but you would lose energy to friction and from light turning into heat energy. The only true way to have perfect energy efficiency is if you can turn heat directly into electricity without losing anything to friction. (cough steam engines are stupid cough)

Re: Sunless Solar
Lol. Since when were steam engines perfectly efficient?
The only way to reach true efficiency (theoretically)is to supercool a conductor to 0 degrees Kelvin.
