Extraction rates are messed up
All right, two forum posts and a ticket in. It's pointless to deny the problem exists, and it's going to be bad when people are first setting up bases next uni. I am happy to provide ample evidence although I prefer not to let my gal starve until a dev bothers to check in on it.
The problem: some commodities on some bases are not extracting as fast as they should, or seem to stop extracting at the proper rate when no one is in the galaxy. I spent an hour watching rations tick up on my bases only to have them all gone after being left to their own devices for a while. And yes, I made quite sure there were no secret ration sinks. I dropped many extra hydros on all the problem bases and haven't looked back.
The solution: come to my gal and I'll demonstrate. I can prove that metals are extracting too slowly on at least on planet, and I can probably also demonstrate the rations problem (though like I say, I'd rather not fix my bases needlessly). I am not the only one who's experiencing this, but I am the most vocal.

I have 2 bases, same equipment, same gear and same amount of extractors yet one base produces more of a commodity than the other...

It's an old bug that commodities get distributed unevenly among extractor bases. In my case though, the total amount of metals extracting on the planet I refer to is still only about 60% of what it should be.

Re: Extraction rates are messed up
Considering I was sustaining over 1 million workers over 50 bases fine for about 2 months with rations supply growing, and then suddenly last week with no changes in slaving, extractors, or change in worker levels, about 20 bases go empty on rations because supply bases go dry, you know something is wrong.

Re: Extraction rates are messed up
I have also had a base go down over this.
If i log off, the rations on my largest base fall by millions per day. However, if I stay logged on, they ration level grows by about 1 million per day.
No changes to any bases, workers, or slaves.
There is a problem with some type of sleepy gal code or something perhaps that is shutting down production, but not consumption of materials.

Re: Extraction rates are messed up
Recondite talked to me about this the other night. More specifically the metals one.
Planets have various attributes than just how many extractors you can equip. They have some extra attributes for scanning (eg some planets you can see a commod with a P8 scanner, some you can't) and rate of extraction.
Extractors also have internal power values, so some are more powerful than other ones.
If you really think your metal extraction rate is an issue despite this, give me the planet/gal name, and I'll have someone look at the planet's XML.

Re: Extraction rates are messed up
I think you are missing the point, but sure...
Planet Geddon in galaxy Bombast
Planet Wonderworld in galaxy Bombast
This has nothing to do with the attributes of the planet or the bases on them, it has to do with when im LOGGED OFF, the bases that are supplied by these rations bases lose millions per day. However, when I sit LOGGED ON, the bases supplied start to fill back up.
The production amount on the production bases changes. The actual bases happen to stay empty at all times because the slaves have more capacity than the production amount even at peak production.
Everything was perfect in my gal for 2 months, then one of the patches came in and everything went to shit.

Re: Extraction rates are messed up
It's an issue with the sleeper code i'm sure.

Re: Extraction rates are messed up
I was talking to enkelin.
Your issue is on the bug list to be tested ERMAN.

Your issue is on the bug list to be tested ERMAN. I'm pretty sure every now and again the sleepy code issue with regards to my mining slaves is coming into effect on my char 'Destroyer Of Planets'. Seem to be working now but they've stopped working inbetween the fix twice now. Furthermore has anyone noticed a reduction in the amount of T3 commods extracted (might just be nothing due to some downtime) but I've been happily pulling 6 commods from each base after I come home from college and today I got 2 :/

Re: Extraction rates are messed up
Metals issue: galaxy Chesterton, planet Scorpia. Unless the planet's parameters were changed in the past two weeks, something is going wrong. I explained clearly in the ticket that it's not just underperforming based on my calculations, but also based on 2 months of experience in this universe. Is it so hard to believe that I know to the nearest million how many metals I extract per day?
Thank you for the offer though and I hope someone gets a chance to check out the issue soon.

Re: Extraction rates are messed up
Just adjusted the prices on all my colonies because baobabs and nukes have been extracting slower, as reflected by drastically reduced profits T_T

Re: Extraction rates are messed up
I'm assuming it has to do with the really long uni we had so far. Just pretend that it's a feature until we fix it
