Post Some classes underpowered at low levels.
This isn't a suggestion, more of an observation.

I believe that all classes should be viable at all levels. I mean, some might get a bit above the rest, but it should be a crossing wave pattern, not just two different exponential curves, y'know?

But at the moment, some classes (primarily seer and zerker) are practically unplayable at low levels. I'm looking for ideas to make them an option at lower levels that can maybe be turned into a legit suggestion. Any takers?

make lower level augs that add critical hit chance and strength. like t5-t15.


Also have lower level augs that increase Mutifire. I remeber when MF was a skill you paid 50 sp to get haha.

Solo Zerk is a touchy business at any level. I certainly haven't bothered to make a solo Zerk build on mine. Obviously Seer fails at low levels since you can't get low vis enough. Some low tech class locked gear would do the job I think.

How's low-level ShM for healing? If that's roughly doable then noob squads could at least use low level Zerks as well.

Low level shm is doable easily with just slaves and upping slave bonus.

Zerk is pretty impossible... Unless there were t5 augs added that are actually good

Low-level ShM is functional; there are a lot of ships that cater to using ShM, especially the tortoise line etc.

Solo zerk is pretty awful though. At any level, it's hard to make sustainable setups with enough dps/elec/shield regen to effectively DG.

I'l put it this way.
Copper is a viable leveling option for almost ALL classes at low-mid game, even seer and zerker.

While the playstyle is drastically different to its endgame counterparts, its quite effective.

Seer- You basically play it as a SD in a LF, putting a little more focus into RoF and critting then a normal SD that level would. It works efficiently if you choose the right skills and don't try cloak.
Zerker is actually done the exact same way, LF ship with some fanagling with the hull, you do it like the low-midgame SD, except with MFing.

I'm not saying they're as efficent as SD, or even sniper at low levels, but those playstyles in copper are probably the two best setup styles for those classes I know.

But of course, don't expect new players to realize this. And even if they do, it will take a serious bit of work to do it.

I actually had a decent low vis, regen-based mzungu fluid zerker.

I managed to hit something like level 400 before they beefed radars (etc) and suddenly AI could all see me (complete fail after that).

Anyway, my point is that for roughly 2b lowbies could/can make a decent zerker... it's just more difficult than most other classes, especially now that SP is severely limited (it was a right pain getting to 100 without a hotrod though.)
