QUESTION OF: Measures to protect the rights of intelligent beings on SS

Noting with regret the daily annoyance of dumb people in all chat,

Defining dumb people as people with an IQ under a 100 and people who, despite being native speakers, are unable to use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation,

Recalling the notable increase of newbies since advertising has started,

Having studied the annoyance of smart people by stupid people on a daily basis,

Guided by my inner voices,

Reaffirming that this resolution will solve any and all concerns about the issue.

1. Calls for the creation of a test which will have to be taken in order and which must be passed with a score higher then 55% correct answered questions to join Star Sonata which will consist of topics about, but not limited to;
[*]Geography
[*]Basic Physics and maths
[*]Normalized social interactions
[*]English

2. Approves of all publicity which clause 1 will generate, nationally and internationally;

3. Endorses the slogan: 'Star Sonata, do you think you've got what it takes?';

4. Further invites amendments and any suggestions to this topic at all to be posted below;

5. Decides to stay actively seized on the matter.

As main submitter of this resolution I would like to hold my speech;

Honorable chair, dear delegates and everyone playing SS. As this representative is sure, you must've all noticed the lack of civilized intelligent discussions in all chat. Ladies and gentleman, this must come to a stop! Nay I say, this is not to discriminate the lesser fortunate in society, for they would never be able to experience SS in its fullest anyways! Nay I say, this would not harm SS in its current state at all, only 5% of the people who play SS are dumb, the problem is they also happen to be the ones who can't shut up.

This delegate would to express how much press releases it would create if this resolution would pass. Everyone would want to be part of an elitist game.
Therefore ladies and gentlemen I urge you all to vote in favor of this resolution.

Brilliant idea .. however;

This does not account for people who have a lack of 'IQ' due to a dissability, in which case it would be wrong to prevent them from playing the game.

Simply add in something at the start requiring DoB.

Here are a few flaws with your plan:

(1) People can simply google the answers.
(2) Socially dysfunctional people, or people who have not received a proper education will be at a disadvantage (if they don't just use google...)
(3) Any meaningful test would take at least 30 minutes, thus driving away the vast majority of potential customers before they've even played the game.
(4) If you really hate these people the ability to create some kind of 'elite' chat would be a better idea.

Well if they think about googling it that would mean that they'd had some form of basic human intelligence, which in my believe people like Lilith, Deathreus and Narcissus and so on. Do not.

Respectfully I dare to disagree, you don't understand how bad people like to be part of an elitist group. Look what people do to join MENSA and they have more members then SS!



That would defeat the sole purpose of cleansing SS of retardation and making it a safe haven for intellect.

The problem here is that SS doesn't have the reputation of an organization such as MENSA and (these being simplistic tests) would have little hope of acquiring such a reputation.

The bottom line is that 'stupid people' who troll through the game for extended periods of time still pay subs, and there are fewer 'intelligent' individuals than otherwise.

I like the basic principal behind your suggestion, but a game needs to maintain a mixture of any player it can grab. If everyone playing SS were a 'pro' the word would lose it's meaning. The 'food chain' would also collapse, in terms of pvp (assuming one exists to begin with).

Who gives a fuck if disabled or otherwise impaired people can't play, that would be better in my opinion.

Please stick to parliamentary language, but aye i agree with your point.

To The Salty One, we would get this reputation because we would be the first game ever to implement a system like this. As I said, it would probably hit some headlines.

We're talking about people like "DRAGON BOLT", who was telling people, so far:

1. It is a machine
2. It is a female
3. It is a male
4. It is not American, Non-Egyptian African, or East Asian*
5. It is an administrator
6. It is a moderator
7. It can delete your character off the server

Also Lilith/Lexx-, Axx3, Deathreus, and Is. But mainly the first. The remainder can be lived with. The sad part is that Bolt hasn't been muted or banned yet.

*Thats how many major racist words I noticed. Yankee(when used outside the US) is very racist. N..... is obviously racist. And C.... refers to my East-Asian heritage(1)

1. That particular time was when I was gathering Flesh in Graveyard for a teammate's Rotting Equanimizer, and he demanded I leave or be banned. I refused and he started to shout out, in full caps, increasingly insulting words until he hit the nail on the head with the C-Word. I laughed my head off at that attempt.
