Say I carry 10 Armada Infernos into battle and lay 5. I would like it start immediately charging my next 5 infernos.

well if you have 10 equiped thell already be charged

But there is an 18 drone limit. I keep 5 Infernos, 5 Ambushs, 5 BFDs, 3 Charges charged.

lol thats exactly the reaction i expected to trigger.. so what u want to say is:

drone limit=18 is not enough. DOT lol

i always suggested flat 60 drones (6 per hotkey)

i fly in a BS with 15 drone limit guess how much fun that is, i got 7 sets à 6 drones on me. guess how much time i waste resetting the hotkeys on certian occations.

PS: dont complain, if someone wouldnt have been poking all day long youd be sitter there now wiht 12 drone limit.

I sudgest no to have a set number of drones, i think it sould be more depending on the hull of your ship
X amount of hull gives Y amount of drone starting at like 3 drones whit 0 hull
so 3+(X/Z=Y+3) amount of drones

We should be able to deploy 'uncharged' drones with a second delay or something if we have the sufficient bank to do so. So far as I can remember they take 1 second to charge anyway. Also, a way of setting a charge queue (etc) would be neat.

Basically if I hotkey an ambush drone without 'charging' it I can press that hotkey and deploy one, as with the old system.
If that's too OP perhaps the client should instantly 'equip' it in the place of a drone with similar elec requirements, then equip the previous drone afterwards.

It already works that way, just press the hotkey again while the others are down and it starts charging the next 5 that are not charged.

This was a change Jey did a little while back, I use it on my engineer very often

Again, I state... you can carry 2 sets of drones, and the 2nd set can charge while the 1st is in use. When you scoop the ones that are already placed they go into your hull and the other pre-charged ones are ready to go. I make use of this all the time with my low level engineer.

if you click the hotkey again after your 5th drone laid in this scenario you would equip the other 5...

It is starting to sound like if people were just fully acquainted with the new system, they wouldn't be complaining too much. Moar tutorials?

I personaly have played with it a bit, still not liking it at all. I just want to be able to drop a drone when I want to drop it, not have to wait.
