Yea. Excluding suns in perma gals and the few dark suns I can find, every sun does damage.

This has been discussed and answered by Jeff himself already.

Anyways, I don't think players would mind so much if the damaging suns weren't through the autopilot path so often.

viewtopic.php?p=579519#p579519 If that is the post your are referring to, it was more about the color of the suns than the damage.

I just don't like how EVERY star does damage now. We used to have the Standard Yellow Stars™ which did no damage. Since Jeff seems to like the O-B-A-F-G-K-M star classification system, I would suggest Classes G, K, and M be non damaging. Then maybe lower damage from A class by 15% or so.

A-class stars were non-damaging ones before :(

No... Dark suns in c1 were blue. In c2, the A-class is blue and dark suns are hollow water spheres.

On a side note, I have seen no green stars in c2.

No, what I meant was that the planets that are attached to A-class suns were the same systems where a non damaging yellow-colored sun was in c1. Hence, the non damaging one was replaced by a sun that can tear a large chunk of shields off in one hit.

Stationary planet + yellow sun, the random orbit height/direction system with weird roid belt that spawned from the sun systems...etc.

The sun shown in the "Base vs Base battle" screenshot is the sun type that WAS where the current A-class is.

The damage on the suns have been increased by more than 8 - 12.

Jeff_L states that the sun damage is serverside and no server side code has been altered concerning the damage the suns do vs C1.

A quick comparison from Test c1 vs Live c2 easily confirms something has happened since. Never before have I entered a DG and lost 3/4 of my shields before even being fired upon.

As a result, I want attached Qafir+ and Longer Range attached Warp Drones.

Making the different types of sun do different amounts of damage sounds like a good idea.

But jeff, there's a serious problem here. Before i would take maybe 300 damage per tick, now I'm taking over 3000 damage per tick.

I've brought this up many times, he goes broken record on me and says that no server side code involving sun damages were changed.

It's literally a 8 - 12x damage increase to suns on top of that they are even LARGER too. what used to be a 5 - 10% dent in my shield has become a 80 - 95% chunk.

Suns do more damage. Even if the code hasn't been changed. Somehow.
Suns are now generally larger. Causing more hits than in the past.
All bright suns now do damage. Where as in c1, not all suns were damaging.

Any way you look at it, there is more damage now.

I just hope they follow through with this sooner rather than later.
