AI Size depicts difficulty
I think AI with the same graphic but different difficulties should be differentiated by physical size. Use the current sizes as the "normal" versions, then scale up from there (we could also make custom textures for them if warranted). This would also allow extended use of the same models to be more dynamic.

I like this idea, make them fly + ships as well? Like Ice Pick+ (not stat beef, purely for visual purposes?)

There are some AI that definitely need to be re-sized.
The list goes as follows:
Picks 1.25x Larger
Forgies, .75x smaller
GoL, 2x Larger
BG, 1.25x Larger
GB, 1.5x Larger
Bana Queen: 1.25x Larger

As far as cess, prince, rhino, knight, etc. All the UZ size ships look fine. UZ works great besides the lag storm you get from entering the first rhino level because of the background
There are a couple other ones that I have not encountered yet, but because we are able to zoom out so far and change our camera angle some of the AI have lost their perspective. I don't know what it is, but something is very different about the size of galaxys. They should be more spread out to accommodate the flood of new players that are going to join SS in the next few years. Right now, the galaxys are clustered. especially sol.
Just some things to thing about when coding the next Uni.

I think BGs are fine how they are, but I agree with the rest of that list, as well as the original suggestion. There are plenty examples of that already (giant volcom/maggot/flylet/goblin/beta, bigger green, the OS AI, ect), why not make it standard for any upgraded version of an AI?

Nice concept, but I'd like the opposite to be true for some AI... Maybe things like Trolls, break the universal mold of 'big thing=tougher'... getting one hit by a mini kasper-sized AI would be somewhat epic.

It always has bothered me that Bigger Greens never got noticably larger, only darker. In hindsight they should have been named Darker Greens.
