First of all, because i can't seem to find this information, is SS2 compatible with windows xp?

When I load star sonata 2, I get to the box with the graphical settings, but when I press the Ok button, I get nothing but a grey screen with a white rectangle in the center, and a couple of very small glitchy looking lighter grey boxes on the bottom left. I've tried numerous different graphical settings. I've run the patchbot, and have reinstalled the program 3 times now.

I am running windows XP, on a GF9800 GTX, and 4gb ram.

I had the same problem. What seemed to sort it for me was;
[Start], [Windows update], [Custom], [Software, optional], then check all the boxes that have [Microsoft .NET Framework] by them and install. Im no computer expert but I was advised this and although load up is extremly slow, it worked. Hope this helps.
