Quote: If I showed you the formulae you'd think it was bs. Don't insist on it, I know you're just waiting to call it gay or something. Ah, because I'm not going to call BS when you don't post any formulae? And unless it uses teletubbies and hearts as variables, I probably won't be calling it gay.

Re: Energy Mechanics
Revamped the guide around the fact that we are all apparently space-faring ghosts.

and yes ultraman, it is difficult but it could be done. it's just a matter of technology.
also, I'm not entirely sure time exists anymore. Scientificily prove it to me edit:fixed stuff

also, I'm not entirely sure time exists anymore. Scientificily prove it to me edit:fixed stuff How do you define time? A lot of metaphysical circles and such believe in that time is an illusion and etc. etc. I'm aware. Can you prove that your subjective experience of the universe correlates to anything vaguely like it seems? Maybe we're all squids dreaming in a jar.

Re: Energy Mechanics
I dunno... I just... Well, I can't prove time.
Think about it: Imagine the universe is a computer. If it doesn't store the past then it doesn't exist. To the great simulator there is only now. There will never be anything other than now. But we would still remember the past. The structures we interpret as memory are just results of how now progresses, in a sense, time doesn't exist. There is only now. And now is forever.
Surely I'm not the only one who has thought of this? Edit: added that statement^

The real question is whether it matters whether we are squids dreaming in jars. Perhaps we should settle for drawing conclusions about what we can observe and not worry too much about what we cannot.

Re: Energy Mechanics
Not posting equations on the grounds of "You'll call it gay." is imbecilic. The math will be correct or incorrect, and thus it will speak for itself. So, put your money where your mouth is and prove to us that you're not a raving lunatic.

Ghosts being able to incarnate at will would violate conservation of energy, ... "In the game, we are actually all ghosts." - No, you're wrong - I'll refer you to JeffL on that or you might wanna give the wiki a deeper search (no free beer from me) "This is evident when we die and become a ghost" No, you're still wrong. The Ghost appereance is only a representation. (I'd refer you to Adum on this but contacting him might prove difficult) "and are capable of returning to a ship indefinitely" No, you're wrong. Simply try it and you'll see that you can't return indefinitly to a ship. "Ghosts being able to incarnate at will" No, you're wrong. The free will you speak of is an illusion of yours, in game reality you reincarnate and your mind makes up that you did want to do that now. "Ghosts being able to incarnate at will would violate conservation of energy" No, you're wrong. A simple check on the wiki (not Starsonata wiki) would have shown you that reincarnation of ghosts does not violate energy conservation. All in all I didn't read the rest really (looks like a very nice post so far) but the start off was really bad - truth wise. I really enjoyed this post btw
