Re: How to position Star Sonata?
I'd think Star Sonata should be made as more of a Casual game. Also, we'll need some good footage first of huge fleets fighting alien invasions (like Bag said)... therefore, we'll need players to do so.
Emphasize on variety. EVE light (yeah).

There is a key that toggles the ui already.

Re: How to position Star Sonata?
You could try asking someone like MMOhut.com by making a review of Star Sonata and he can mention that Star Sonata 2 is coming out on beta testing.

I found that if I pressed and held U it hid the UI, but once I released U the UI returned. I could lock it by switching to another window while it was held, but is this the correct key and is there a toggle for it?

Re: How to position Star Sonata?
Please correct Galaxies to Solar Systems. If you want to use Galaxy for something, use it for Wild Space or Earthforce Space. So to speak your layers are more Galaxies and the Galaxies we use now, are Star Systems. If u would correct that at least before you make SS2 alpha advertisement, that would be great. Star Systems can have more than 1 Star. (side note: most of the Star Systems have 2 or more) PS: I know what i speak of, before anyone else comments it and I know that this was suggested several times before.

I think it would just be more confusing to make a change at this point, even though it would make more sense.

Not to mention, it is more of a player driven naming system. You can't change what the players call it without a massive amount of work. Or by banning all of them. It would simply be too difficult.Short answer: no.

It needs to be done anyway.

Re: How to position Star Sonata?
How you call a galaxy with 2 or 3 solar systems in them?
Referring to 2-3 suns with planets/rocks orbiting each one.

Referring to 2-3 suns with planets/rocks orbiting each one. A very very very very small galaxy.

Referring to 2-3 suns with planets/rocks orbiting each one. It is still a Star System , if u like u can call it group of star system. A galaxy is built up around 100-400 millions of stars, has mostly a super massive blackhole in the center and got a halo around it. Can have different shapes and sizes, but a couple of stars doesnt make a galaxy , noway. It is a good point to change that with C2. Old players will learn, new players will understand it better. SS was always trying to integrate a bit of physics and pay some respect to its laws.

Referring to 2-3 suns with planets/rocks orbiting each one. That's called a "star system" see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_systemA Galaxy contains usually at least ten's of millions of stars - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaxy; Our galaxy - the Milky Way - has estimated 100 - 400billion Stars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milky_wayLogic would give you a simple answer on the naming scheme: SystemIf you check, not stars, planets but 'Wormholes' define what we call atm a 'galaxy' in Starsonata. Therefor it's definitly not a galaxy or a star system - just a part of space that a wormhole leads to and that may or may not contain stuff.

Re: How to position Star Sonata?
Utu makes a good point, to the extent that any point in this discussion can be good. Since each "gal" is simply a region of space accessed by wormholes, each could legitimately be star system in a unique galaxy. It's kind of a silly interpretation since you'd only be visiting a single location in each of hundreds of galaxies, but there you have it. Since the standard view of the universe is nothing like the SS uni map with its multitudes of wormholes, there's really no point in arguing the matter. This somewhat humorous interpretation I give is just as valid as any of the ones that would call for a name change.
