I think it makes more sense that nothing ship based be > Base gear. Allow bases to be able to equip tractors so they can tractor in the enemy(via base range augs and tractor subskills) problem solved.

The tractor range nerf is badly needed, not only because of bases being tractored, that's just a minor issue that could be solved with a warning message. The real problem is when ships gets tractored from 10k+ range and with such power that there is no way to resist it. Having to ALWAYS carry 100+ grav disruptors and spam them like a retard is not a good system. That nerf is not even up for discussion in my personal opinion, should be easy enough to understand. Engineers will still have very powerful tractors and they will probably be able to get pretty good range too.

If you're removing the benefit of one of the engineer skills, don't they need to get a beef in another area to stay balanced? Fleet Focus gets a bonus to tractor range when they're in capships too. I actually make a lot of use out of that bonus with my gunner, so don't forget a new bonus for fleet focus as well

There might still be some tweaking to this tractor range, we are having some discussions about it. So we'll simply have to wait and see, nothing is written in stone.

I dont mind DM being a harmless class Ill just use another broken class to PvP with but i would rather something constructive done with DM for combat.
As DM is getting these new Tweak factories why dont you make a tractor that transfers tweaks to other ships? just a general idea, would make us more useful in team situations e.g. an ShM needs more shields we can transfer them tweaks through a tractor to there ship. Of course this can only be done if there on your team or in squad.

Do it on test first, get it right, and patch it in! Don't think it has to be in for reset, because it doesn't. >.>'

Why should anything happen to it? It still improves your tractor range, which will be even more useful now that it is being lowered.
