It's been suggested a few times that snipers get bonuses to stats in a certain arc in front of them.
yeh i think it would be nice for snipers to have something like that.

I agree that snipers should get a better radar bonus infront than behind. However my idea is not only based on what sniper needs but also what should be easy to code. As there is already the range and damage scale in one skill it should not be too difficult to add in radar. If HAL and Abbara's idea is easy to code then put that in instead For any changes to sniper or gear additions I am more than willing to spend time testin ^.^

i would like to see the flare laser weapon for sniper only. that would solve the problem with the radar. Stats should be like:
tech 20 ,size 12, weight 10k, 500-600 range, flares for 1 minute, adds 1k vis
tech 10, size 8, weight 4k, 300-400 range, flares for 30 sec, adds 250 vis
would be nice to have a travelling field heavy fighter only that adds speed (50-70), less vis (-50% to -80%), -90% damage, size 2, elec 20.
New low vis energies (so zero vis energies would be great). High regen small bank even fueled, as long as they are zero vis. What about giving the zebra life zero vis?
I am using zebra engine and that works fine (of course AIs can see me if i start moving, entering DG with full speed helps to be out of detection area fast enough). Some new cool low vis engines would be still great.
More auras not only the Lyceum bought one, with different stats, uber drops would be cool too. 10% dam and 26% range is nice, something maybe like rate of fire 15% and 20% - 30% range ?
Maybe a bit more cloaking bonus ? (really hard to say amount with all the changes to radar and cloaking )

also the bana nrg from the mission is also good but dosnt add dmg witch is what u rly need on sniper
i am wondering will the physic's of the new sniper weps work agenst SD ??

This latest radar decrease has made seeing debris difficult w/o radar augs. Can we please have the VISIBILITY on debri increased by 2x or so...

It might not have changed anything for YOU, and I don't want to offend your [superior intellectual capabilities], but it does change things for OTHERS. There were not only changes to cloaks, but also to: radars, weapon sizes, etc. Futhermore, I was not asking you directly... I don't appreciate your "stupid ass comment", for lack of a better phrase.

I don't appreciate your "stupid ass comment", for lack of a better phrase. /me laughs why you ask? because you honestly think that patch didnt hit me harder than you can ever imagine, read back through this thread i was undoubtedly one of the biggest opponents of this i logged on after this patch to find my only ship thats capable of killing things(dont see the need of more than 1) totally worthless in every way. however because i employed a setup that was balanced and that took into account what admins have said for months on end incessantly "if you want to be stealth aug for it" i was able to turn my useless ship back into an extremely useful ship(not all the way to its former glory but meh, it gets the job done). if you disregarded what the admins continually said out of ignorance or any other reason on the topic of stealth thats your problem, go whine with the stealth SDs in misc.

Another problem is in pretty much all items...they give way too much visibility! Seriously, giving 200 vis is enough to make you highly visible, so why are there shields that give 1500?
I suppose those could be so you really cant use those on a stealth char, but why are there items with, say, 50 vis? they're just high enough vis to be unusable by stealth people, and generally have worse stats because of their low vism so non stealth people cant use them either. That should be rebalanced.
Also, some AI have disproportionately powerful radars. For example, about 1/5 BG's can see me from hundreds of distance, and all rosies can see me from hundreds of distance. At least the level 900 ones. with 2 -30% radar augs, thats kinda dumb.

I did not run into this problem before they cloaks got nerfed, but arn't you one of the folks that keeps saying its fine? Just bring the Juju cloak back into line were it was. Not over powered but def better then your average. >Spatzz
