one more question, If Team A lays low lvl base out of pvp range no matter what, and waits 24 h and then lays a base in the next gal, And the base gets transfered to a higher end char, so that it can bvb what do you do in this situation , i propose once both sides fully declare the pvp range is unlimited.

Bases could be unlimited PvP range during two sided war against other bases to fix this issue?

actually they would have to move there HQ since Zeph is between cartwheel and DM area.

Aren't they allied with Zeph?"

If an ADMIN would go LOOK you will find that Shields is also between Zephyr space and Cartwheel... So this would require Zephyr to violate the NEW rule to do what your talking about......

******************

Now for my 2 cents

This is the most ridiculous solution to a precieved problem I think I have ever heard..

Unless Im mistaken this is a real time game..... if you cant handle problems in this game because your team is in another time zone or sleeping them maybe you should consider playing a Turn based game where you get your turn......

And if in any way you think this NEW RULE is fair then by the same token there should be another rule....
Teams should have to declair WAR and give the other team/player 24 hours notice before any PVP can happen.....

What your Solution has accomplished is to place BVB teams at a severe disadvantage to PVP/PVB teams.

The real Solution is ....... Remove the NEW RULE and let the players deal with it.....

WAR IS HELL !!!! GET USED TO IT !!!!

So you are complaining that you have to actually do work to kill galaxies now?

You can't expect a team to be on 24 hours per day and not have lives. Sure, this might work if teams were 500 players or more per team, but when teams are 5-30 players in most cases there needs to be time.

Your comment about no PvP until war is declared also just makes it obvious your post is just whining without reason.

Pip our war was just an example. My point was simply that in some cases it would not be an option to move the HQ just to BvB another team. It would be more adviseable to use an outpost to wage the war. and if you could expand expand no matter how little it would be a much better option than to create a false team to do the job (in my openion that is a very bad practice). that is just pure deception and in that case your update is a very good idea but there are many teams that would not stoop to that level and Zephyr just happens to be one of them..

The Point is ...
1. This is a real time game..... If you cant have a team member on line all the time maybe you should consider joining a bigger team or finding a more tame game.

2. No advanced notice is given when a PVP/PVB teams comes in and trashes your galaxy... So why should BVB be any different.

3. And as for your comment
Quote:

you obviously do not have a grasp of how much work is involved in setting up a successful BVB.

No Whining here... just pointing out.... There dosn't need to be a rule to deal with this ..... because its not a problem that requires a solution...
Just let the players deal with it.... and let the game go on....

A siege kit can annihilate even a well defended galaxy in an hour. BvB is much, much more dangerous than PvB with the current base stats, as bases lost a huge chunk of regeneration and shields and got relatively better offensive stats. If you can destroy a strong system effortlessly by just laying one or two annihilator bases, you might as well have to work for it. It should be costlier to the attack the galaxy rather than to defend it anyway.

Offensive outposts is something we might consider implementing in the future, I do think they work well with the new system.

Final thought: you may still stage surprise attacks without bases. But BvB shouldn't have the advantage of the element of surprise, considering how much damage it can do.

Umm, are you kidding? If you can't have team members 24 hours a day then you have built your team wrong. If you can't have team members on 24 hours a day then don't declare war!!!! As far as this "new rule", I believe it should be applied in the next uni. Everyone knew the rules entering this uni and to change it no seems quit ......you know.

HAL will patch these in by Thursday. Really, we're not making BvB harder than it was last uni, when you couldn't lay bases in owned galaxies at all.

Admins, I think your at least partially missing the point.. You changed things with less than a fair ammount of notice.. and some of us may or may not be out billions and billions in preps for something that is now an exploit. The same something to which we were the victim of. AND Before anyone says we're crying because we didn't think of it first.. we were told it was an exploit and didn't. Then the tactic is used against us so we go to use it and things are changed?

Its Frustrating.. Stop making fucking changes without some notice so we dont get screwed out of time money and effort and we won't be so pissy about things.

I understand the frustration and can relate to that. However I do not believe we will accomplish much by waiting. There will always be people who are at loss when we change some of the basic mechanics, but we never change something unless we are sure it would be better in the long term.

Howabout changing the basic mechanics so one team can't stop another from playing the game? That's what this all boils down too.. if you take away the REASON for most of these attacks, then you take away the problems. Stop treating the symptoms and start treating the disease.. before you die of cancer!

See you missed the point entirely.... If a team has to first set a base in a Gal next to yours before they can even attempt to invade your gal... thats one base..(HQ or OUTPOST) Then they have to declare war, then lay the bases in side your gal with out getting their tails shot off while they are doing it. Then the battle can begin...

And after all of that if its a supprise its your fault for not watching .. in additon if they drop two Anni base and take out your whole gal then you should have put more into it, and built it stronger.

AND another point... small teams dont have anni kits....

So what you are actually saying is ... This rule is to save the little teams from the bigger teams, (who can get anni kits)...
PVP / PVB teams can harrass other teams that dont have the pvp ships and thats OK but dont give a team that relies on strong base building skills a chance in the game to respond in kind.

****************************************************
The truth to the matter is this game had 3 aspects.... PVP, PVB and BVB. and people developed their characters accordingly.
But with the addition of this new rule. The Admin's are removing one entire aspect of the game.

And I will say again.... If you think coordinating the movement of enough team members to move to another gal some distance away.. then you have to lay a HQ or outpost then move to the gal you want to attack then having enough members there to lay a base while others defend them. and hauling all that gear (expensive gear) and then pulling of a successful BVB attack and on top of that if you dont intend to keep that gal ... packing it all up and getting away.... EXCUSE ME but what part of that is NOT costly, Not time consuming, even with the advantage of supprise.....
And while all this is going on... the word dosnt get out or another team dosnt warn them because they saw what you were doing.

The logistics are the same in principle as planning the D-Day invasion.. and no one told them we were coming????

*****************************************************

There you are just flat wrong... PVP/PVB/BVB it dosnt matter.... each kind of attack has it own risks and every team can plan defences against each of these attacks.... if they plan well they do well ... if they plan poorly.... well they do poorly...

Implementing (Short Notice) rule changes to appease whiners who cannot defend their galaxies, is just not the Answer to the problem!!!!

This entire situation was started by people whining because a few teams came up with a very good plan and pulled it off....
If anything you should applaud the take over of Cartwheel. it was a great example of planning and execution....

Not punish everyone else because a few people called foul!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. To pull off a successful BvB attack some distance away will now require considerably more investment. You not only will have to lay an empty shell of HQ to lay siege kits in the adjacent enemy galaxy, but protect it for 24 hours as well, before initiating BvB. That will involve fortifying the HQ, laying bases and drones around it to get a good foothold next to your enemy and coordinating your team to protect it all for 24 hours.

Costly? Yes. Challenging? Yes. But the advantage of being able to lay an ada kit in your enemy's territory is worth it. Now you will have to choose between taking time and effort to set up heavy artillery to obliterate a galaxy, or stage some surprise PvB attacks, which would be less pricey but less effective as well.

We will consider implementing offensive outposts too.
