Download and install the new (Oct. 23) BETA Chat Client here:

By default, the installer installs the chat client into:
C:/Program Files/StarSonata/Chat Client/Star Sonata Chat.exe

Run this program to chat.


Confirm that you have the proper version of Java installed.

Well, I can has chat client thing?? ETA?

i downloaded everything it ask me 2, then when i got back to the page, i still need a plug in, So i go and install the full version, Most recent update off the main Java.com and i still need the plug-in...Maybe i am epic fail

It doesn't run of the plug-in, so you may ok. As Jon said, I spent most of the weekend improving the interface and fixing bugs... it won't be perfect but it's a beta release to see if ppl like it. We're in the final testing stages now, should be out this week.

Sweet, and perfect timing. xD My mother's threatening to stop paying my sub if I don't spend more time getting college stuff together. =P

Will this beta last 4 years

After the game/server patch today or tomorrow. We'll do a beta test of the chat client on the test server. We've fixed a dozen or more bugs in the last few days alone but I'm sure we'll find a few more when 10x the number of people are using it. If that goes well, we'll release it for Kattare. But we need people's help when the time comes to use and test it.

Less talk about releasing and more of the actual releasing of it:P

The BETA will only connect to the TEST server for now. If all goes as planned, we'll release a version what works with Kattare.


MAKE SURE you have the newest version of Java installed if you have issues running the chat client. The Java link is in the first post.

Test test test! Woohoo. Please post only bug reports for now, no feature requests. Only post them in this thread, not suggestions so I can keep track.

Indeed, whatever happened to this thing being universal. So I need to emulate an emulator in order to run this... nice going. I mean OS X and most linux distros have native java support and you make it into an exe. It's probably full of VB too isn't it...
