Post New Uni opinions - update
OK! Lots of good feedback which helps and I appreciate.

We are aware of the missing tier 3 commod problem and this will be fixed soon.

We are also considering making more galaxies base buildable to ease the limited space issue. And possibly upping the base limit in some galaxies. Stay tuned, nothing is set in stone just yet. But the space problem is probably due to the the odd (random) shape of this universe. We didn't mean for this to happen. Blame chaos theory. ;)

about building problems, I liked the idea that voomy came up with that each account can flag one gal and only one gal. That would reward those of us with multiple accounts and make it fair for all p2p....However, I would still like to see a uni large enough where there are just too many gals to build in. I understand the constraints on the server, but I'm sure my favorite dev team will think of a feasible way to make building a possibility for everyone who wants to.

hmm from what id heard the liquid server still works,we also have test.starsonata.com and we have kattare. maybe admins can shove the uni-type stuff on one server?

well anyway they know what they can and can't do. it may be that they can't rework it that way without C2. guess we wait and see. :P

They dont exist. They will be randomly added soon though, we are currently testing it on the test server.

Idc, i wouldn't even care if we didn't lock them to nexus if they didn't spam bases. But they do, so we will have to lock them away and bring them food every once in a while.

reasons why they spam bases:

noobs
1. first, they dont know how to make a decent base that can handle the w0 ai
2. the admins dont have a tutorial for base making
3. they dont understand how to run a base
4. when bases are destroyd, they start over

f2p prats
1. they notice that the p2p want w0, so they spam shells and sell slots for some cash
2. they have been ripped off somehow and want revenge, without getting hurt
3. they use the invinsible thing as a santuary
4. the f2p are kicked out of the crappy w1 gals so they spam w0 with what would have been in that crappy gal with just a smidgen of mets of the worse possible suit single planet.

70% of the time is just noobs. the other 20% is made up f2p teams and the final 10% is f2p teams who know what they are doing and long term f2p

because the admins dont pop a fill-the-screen tutorial in the f2p's face before they leave the nexus, the f2p really dont understand. then the p2p complain and whine and cry, which make the admins do nothing for the p2p's punishment.

so, it's the admins' fault for no huge mandatory tutorial of every aspect of bases, but the players make the admins do nothing by whining and crying and bugging them nearing the point where the admins would start deleting accs to shut us up.

It's disturbing that the stuff has so less control over the randomization of the universe even there are the esential parameters for a satisfying randomization available in game already.

Just to name the most important - and obvious - of those once again:

I) warp navigation lvl - aka w0, w1, w2, w3

II) DF - Danger Factor

It should be easily implementable - or the design and documentation of your code is terrible - to bind the placement of

- number of gals
- special gals (e.g. Lavanite)
- commods according to their quantity and their Tier lvl (e.g. Bunch of metals for w0, but Frozen Blob for w3)
- ruins (just like commods, e.g. none in w0, but Kikale M. in DF 120+)
- suitable colony planets (according to their quality)
- buildable spots - means the number of gals in w0, w1, ... and the number and quality (see the above three points) of planets & moons
- Asteroid belts

according to I) and II). Also the game is old enough to have qualitativly good values for the relative distribution of those according to I) and II).

Implementing this would solve a lot of hassle that one sees each new uni.

Even the - again - tiny w0 has enough spots for a statistical "good" distribution of attached buildable spots and their quality.

Update: We are working patch soon, in the next day or two ideally. We've been delayed a somewhat by some new bugs discovered in our testing on Test.
