Re: Change: Equipping items to bases (updated)
I spent Billions on Ancient transdims, Kilkalie Extractors, and Retardias Extensions, As fair as im concerned There now useless and i have no use for each of these items
Remove the skills required to use these things or you just screwed 100% of the P2p people ingame
As a long stating player I will strongly VERY strongly disagree with the changes made
Or am I reading the post wrong?
If im reading it wrong, everything looks fine

Re: Change: Equipping items to bases (updated)
Yea, I strongly agree with Bigeee's point - until the mission based Station Mgmt 20 route is put it, this puts a major crimp in certain people's ability to use certain BPs..
And what about the TRL bp? The MF weapon BPs? Do I really need to setup another contruction base on a freakin alt just to build class specific gear? That would be kinda er-er..

This doesn't affect BP's.

Re: Change: Equipping items to bases (updated)
JonC wrote: Next patch, the base owner's skill level is the determining factor for eqiupping items to a base (and not the equipping player's skill level as it was before). Of course, this only effects players that have permission to equip items to a given base.
Items that require these skills with still be checked with the equipping player:
Station Mastery Extraction Expert Colonial Administrator Merchant Fleet Master Mzungu Lore Bule Mythology Vazaha Culture Faranji Research Could you please clarify - is this checked only against the equipping player or checked that both the equipping player and the base owner have the skills? If it is only the equipping player that needs to have these skills then I think most of the complaints in this thread so far are no longer applicable since, for example, you will be able to equip retardis on any base (over lvl 12 or whatever the tech is) if you have a StM char equip it, just like it is now.

Re: Change: Equipping items to bases (updated)
Thats fucking retarded.
So I have to build Tardis or Ancient Transdims for my EE bases? and on top of that make sure ALL of my EEs have the Ancient skill to use them?
Thats RETARDED.
Absolutely retarded.
It should check to see if anyone on your ACCOUNT has that skill. That'd be a tad more reasonable.

Re: Change: Equipping items to bases (updated)
That means that things that require those skills won't be dependent on the base owner, but on the equipper, like it is now. BP's will be checked as they were by the equipper as well, not the base owner. Stop thinking it is the end of the world, quite a few of us do have in game experience at things.

ReTardis are StM only, perhaps they shouldn't be anymore.

Re: Change: Equipping items to bases (updated)
Yes.
If you have Re-tardis's on an EE base, you can equip those on an EE base with a Station Master character.
If you have Mz extractors, you can equip them on a base whose owner has Faranji Research with a guy that has Mzungu Lore.
If you have an annihilator shield (T20) and the owner has shielding 18, you CANNOT equip the annihilator shield.
Edit: I think Jon made a typo in his updated post. It should say "Items that require these skills will still be checked with the equipping player, not the base owner:".

Re: Change: Equipping items to bases (updated)
ok you all misread like me then
Listen up
Retardis Still work as long as you equpit them with a STM char
The Ancient/ Extractors are the same way
THE ONLY DIFFRENCE is
Say you want to equpit a Ada Super laser on a base owned by your char that doesn't have w20 , IT WONT WORK, The Char needs w20+IK20, ONLY THE BASIC SKILLS ARE AFFECTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We haven't really misread, they've just edited the initial post, which wasn't so clear and first, and said nothing about staion extensors and items that require ruin skills.
