What is this "background music" you speak of? I have had it turned off since they day I joined SS, I don't mind it but I prefer to be able to listen to my own music while playing.

Its decent, but I think there is plenty of room for improvement. Music for specific galaxies or races would be a great addition. Along with DG music something upbeat for combat that gives a sense of danger when entering the area. Starcontrol 2 PC version music for the win.

I voted for love it, it brings back memories of the good ol' days. However, jon, it is pissing annoying if it gets too loud. Its nice background music and just that, BACKGROUND music. Making it noticeable is annoying. Having it there but kinda quiet is nice.

Meh It wasn't that good i hated it so i just ended up listening to my own music. I liked freelancer's combat music was upbeat and could be used for dg's possibly or is that copyright infringement?

I turned it off very soon after starting to play 3 years ago and have never turned it back on...its awful and very annoying.

I have music turned off, but I usually have that on all games I play.
