There's a new test client at http://www.starsonata.com/StarSonata_TestClient.exe. It has a fix for the lag caused from selecting a galaxy far away and also a fix for some construction costs that were going negative.

Also on the test server: a new way of sleeping between DB writes to hopefully eliminate the save-related lag; capital ship lasers size cut in half; jumping through a DG gate with more keys will extend its unlocked time; fix to gunners big guns skill so it is correct (matches the web page description);correct icons for aug debris from drop lists; improvements to the save algorithm.

Test server is currently set to save every 3 minutes(!), but seems to be going pretty smoothly to me.

It was giving you a damage bonus even if you werent in a capital ship I believe.

Also, the can't-buy-from-base-if-you-have-too-much-credits overflow bug is finally fixed (courtesy of HAL).

And yes, Big Guns gave +1% dmg/level to all damage types, in any ship, and an additional +2% dmg/level for mining damage (again in any ship, for a total factor of 1.2x1.4=1.68 for mining damage at lvl 20).

Now the skill only boosts mining damage - +1%/level in non-capital ships, +3%/level in capital ships.

yikes! didnt notice that one. :shock: good to know it was fixed lol. can we get an ETA on engines 20,UZ drop fixes an possibly the colony commoditys ?

Thats a major nerf to Gunners right there.

How am i supposed to survive now? Capships cost a ton, Gunner now got a nerf, Mining weapons such as Excomms are skyhigh, the mission for Excomms is crazy...

Man, this is super retarded, thanks alot Admins... :evil: :evil: :evil:

The nerfing it to 1% is fine with me, but why the hell couldnt you make it so it beefed all damage types?

The fix for the lag when selecting far away systems is good, not much of an annoyance when plotting your AP to a far away system. I do still notice however, that when you zoom out far away on the map, it still lags. Is there a possible way of reducing/eliminating this lag? Other than that, I did endure a very large lag spike on the test server, not sure whether that is due to the current universe being on a smaller server, or if it's related to the 3 minute save time, but other than that, it ran quite smoothly.

Well I am glad I got a cap ship, I didnt realise gunners were getting a damage boost they didnt deserve.

I was the one who found the gunner bugged damage, I thought it was funny that you could solo dps battlestations with a certain augged ship (not pure damage augged) and only 1.2 * 1.2 * 2 = 2.88 damage bonus from skills.

Technically, its a beef to people in cap ships using mining damage:
1.6 * 1.2 * 2 = 3.84

Ima go out on a limb and say a ship that has 4-5 aug slots.

Actually 3 aug slots, the rosmarinus, or any other 3 aug slot HF ship was being used as gunner with mining weapons getting way more damage than supposedly.
