I want to announce an official policy for rewarding bug reports. I will reward the first person who reports a bug to me (submits a support ticket) that is:

1. Previously unknown to me
2. Specific
3. Reproducible
4. Non-obvious

By specific, I mean something like "If you tell your slave to guard another ship, and that ship docks, then your slave wonders off into space", as opposed to "my slave keeps wondering off". In order to fix a bug, I need to know exactly what causes it and be able to reproduce it in a specific manner.

By "non-obvious", I mean it's something that 20 other players don't also tell me in the first day because it's obvious to just about anyone who logs into the game or visits a certain galaxy.

The rewards are 1 Imperial Seal for each seriously exploitable bug or 1 Unclean Imperial seal for a less serious exploitable bug.

Of course, once an exploitable bug is found, I will search logs or look for evidence for anyone who exploited it and those people will be banned.

Finding bugs on the test server count, too. So for the first crack at finding bugs, check out test from time to time. (Just point your SS program to test.starsonata.com)

This was fixed last night, i spoke to Lorac about it, and managed to catch Jeff online, explained what the bug did, and how to do it, the bug was promptly patched.

I also declared that i am not the founder, and any rewards are to go to Lorac and those party to the bug finding.

just as a side note you might try asking down the line to find the actual finder before handing out rewards . . . . ^_^

The reward is for reporting the bug, not for finding it.

I meant that, as in this case where Jeff heard it from PA who heard it from Llessur, it might be possible that a member of TFC informed him of it, and is the actual source of the report, filed via grapevine to the admins, rather than by support ticket.

Mind, it's a non-issue here, but you see my point, I hope?

Llessur, I'm sure, would be kind enough to pass it on, if that is the case, but not all team leaders are so benevolent.
