I have uploaded new networking code onto the Test server. It combines a lot of smaller packets into bigger packets and splits some of the bigger packets up a lot smarter. I am hoping that this will both reduce lag and help out some people who are having disconnect problems. Please try it out, especially those who are complaining about disconnects.

Just tried it on my other computer that was having problems, and everything was fine, but once it gets on live (Just like kattare) it might have some big problems

We cant fix expired accounts on test. You're gonna have to wait until it's updated next time.

update user_table_on_damn_test_server set expires='9999-12-31 00:00' or whatever time format you use there :p

people are set to renew automatically im sure, so.....wtf?

Problem is that if you start having renews on test its going to charge people too, and not everyone renews automatically, I for sure dont.

Lich, if that was true, then test would be completely useless now wouldn't it? All that needs is a mirror of current user data to test.

Jeff just updated it before he made this topic. Next update will be whenever we have something new to test. Until then those who have their accounts expired will just have to wait.

I'm going to copy the current uni (and subscription info) over to test in a little bit so we can start destroying some bases and test the destroyed base stuff thoroughly before putting this all live.

i mean how can u tell if its laggin, 200-300 people dont log on to the test at the same time like the main

Nor do u have bases in Emp Bio and Bio...

Try to copy the exact base gear and stuff over if thats possible and see if its the lag...

However the true test will obviously be when it goes live, as you said you can't duplicate the number of players on test that there is normally.

i have been saying since go that its not the termites its the packet sizes i have been telling jeff about this since day one and i have not DCed once
