3-4 hours trying, 15 minutes playing
C2 worked for me "normal" next to 100s of bugs in-game on beta test, but now i have played a total of 15 minutes and wasted 3-4 hours of trying to get on.
when i get on it freezes or my PC restarts, i can always get in the menu to change the graphic options but thats all.
i have played that 15 minutes to explore and set a base for testing that stuff and then it froze again, after trying it again with those graphics it restarted my PC.
im almost at the part of rage quitting and lots of things have to happen before that.
i have the latest patch downloaded but still no change

Re: 3-4 hours trying, 15 minutes playing
I've noticed a lot of windows xp users having graphics and crashing issues, including me, even on low settings. Is this a direct X issue I wonder.

Re: 3-4 hours trying, 15 minutes playing
Did a fresh install of Win7 today and SS2 works fine on it. Much easier than waiting for it to be fixed imo (to anyone on XP with this issue)

Re: 3-4 hours trying, 15 minutes playing
I have had many issues with the game loading unreliably on 4 different computers running both 7 Ult and XP Pro, The OS isnt the problem. The lack of a REAL BETA TEST is probably to blame.... Someone must have forgot that the majority of us are paying CUSTOMERS, not just guys playing a game online.

I would put win7 on but the only reason I been avoiding it is my ssd is only 30gb and win bloat 7 ends up about 28gb

Re: 3-4 hours trying, 15 minutes playing
I think it's mostly a compatibility issue. As 7 said, he did a fresh install and everything is now working fine.
A lot of people play on machines that have a metric shitton of useless software installed, and haven't been cleaned in years. Over time, people download and install corrupt drivers, spyware, adware, bloatware etc. that may cause issues with other programs. I've never had a computer issue I couldn't fix, mainly due to routine maintenance and not downloading random shit.
That being said, what SS requires to function is: DirectX 9.0c Microsoft .net framework 3.5+ Up-to-date graphics drivers for your card that has minimum 128mb of video ram and supports shader models 2.0 (i believe "low" and "med" use shader 2.0's, the rest use 3)
I can multiclient 4 clients simultaneously, with 60 fps on each. My clients don't crash, and they run smooth. I do a fresh install of windows probably once a year, and I pretty much never have issues with any games or software.
