This bug when it happens requires you to restart client to reproduce it do the following

select another ship
press x to give credits
while the give credits dialog is open have someone invite you to squad

you now cant close the give credits dialog box as neither the give credits or cancel buttons do anything. The game continues to be grayed out and all keystrokes go to the credit dialog box. To fix a client exit and restart is needed.
