I logged on for a bit to take a look at the new engine particle trails. I must say that they look a bit... billowy at the moment. Some of the engine models look okay, but on the EF capital ships in particular it just looks like the back end of the entire ship is on fire. I was thinking that it might just be that way for now as a work-in-progress, but I figured it worth asking about.

I'm not saying that they are not awesome (they are so awesome), but those engines look less high-tech and more low-tech combustion engine type...exhaust.

It is a really neat effect, but while it looks okay on some ships, others like on Diabolus's above look a bit too poofy. Maybe narrow the trail a bit?

It looks like infernal tempest engines or inferno type engine where a lot of fire is used for practically everything.

It's still a bit of a work in progress. We've now added a second engine trail type which is much more high tech, but even more of a work n progress.

I like it

Then again, i cant see it in real time, so it might look funny as it moves. Makes sense for the advanced version of an engine to be smaller and brighter, though.
