What?!? More eye candy?
Um, it's pretty and all, but do they degrade to friendlier graphics at the click of the checkbox? I don't have a cray, but I do have 12 windows open at once.

why 12 windows? Because I'm a developer and I play SS as a break or when I'm compiling something offsite -- which can sometimes take 4 hours. That's why. I envy you people who don't need to work all the time!
Thankfully, all my other stuff are just SSH windows and Seamonkey (aka Firefox + Features + speed), and they play nicely. I don't even run that cpu hog MSN; I use Gaim.
Now. Maybe, if we ask nicely, maybe they can add this name display feature to the current laggy client, instead of making us wait for a laggiER client.
Actually, scroo that. Make the client skinnable, so that I can download NON-animated suns and simpler rocketwash, warp, stasis, interference (I'll take Alpha Stipple for $100 and half the CPU suckage, alex) and whatnot. You know, make it so PLAY is emphassied over PRESENTATION. I think a good way toward keeping this game a strategy game over a bimbo (pretty but vapid) game would be to make the System-Friendly Graphics actually friendly to the system! If asteroids can run on a TRS-80, can we please have a 2-d game running in under a Gb of RAM?!?

I think it would be cool if star sonata went 3D. I'd like to see my bulk trader II in 3D

I think we should not raise dead topics which have not been posted in for 6 months just to say a one line tidbit you could have posted in existing misc forum threads...

I think 3D is impossible due to collisions with each other, planets, etc... some 3D frames on them would be cool though.
What happened to this "Daniel" guy anyway? He still alive? ^^

Calypso And lots of nerfs.

...By that, SS obviously has particles server based.
