EDIT: I meant for this post to be a bit shorter...maybe I should move it to suggestions, I guess?

While all these mass-produced missiles are cool, is there any chance we might see some large scale, EXPENSIVE, but game-changing missiles at some point in the future? For example, a missile that, when launched, flies about 1000 distance before slowly stopping, and deploying a MASSIVE ethereal envelope for maybe 1500-2500 distance around that, which flashes every second for 10 seconds, and then blows up, doing a large amount of damage within that radius(to everything in the radius, not just enemies). Maybe have it hit through resists, or something, for added fun.

Another idea would be a black hole bomb, of sorts; it shoots out and explodes, and procedes to suck all enemies within a radius towards it, with the force of pull getting stronger the closer you are to it, and if you get pulled all the way into the vortex you start taking large amounts of damage until you manage to escape.

Of course, both of these could be destroyed before they activate(if you have enough DPS to get through their shields, and you can find it), but if you fail...well, you're pretty screwed.

Another fairly simple idea would be a "missile" that just overloads your launchers, removing your ability to fire missiles for a few seconds in exchange for a massive blast of conventional weapons fire.

The keynote to all these is that they cost enough to make it impractical to use them all the time, yet still cheap enough to make them available for less experienced/DG funded players. If done right they would add something interesting to the game, as well as create a definitive cash-sink for the game.

You've already stated in a few posts that you don't use many missiles, and can't afford the new ones.


Try out the new ones, I'll listen to feedback from users. More than a couple of the new ones are 'game changers' if used correctly.

Which reminds me, bunkerbusters are affected by the knockback. Which means only 1 missile can be used at a time.

Can you make the mirv's original casing a bit different? I'm finding that ai and more importantly, players that are fast (which the missiles are designed to be used against) fly into the missiles before they are able to split apart, even wehn I'm shooting from a distance. Obviously this is only for tanky fast ai or high regen ai. In particular dark curse I've found does this. Can you make the mirv's fly out sideways n stuff like dientanglement's but then slow right down or something? Just a way to prevent them hitting the target before it spits apart.

This is by design. Derp, derp.

Think of it this way:

You're launching salvo's of missiles. You now have a large # of slots to use, so think what you're launching.

e.g.

First salvo: 1 destabiliser, 1 disint, 1 entanglement, 1 BB, 2 MIRV
Second salvo: 1 BB, 1 Burst, 4 MIRV


And so on.

Sheesh. You people playing a pet class in any decent MMO would be eaten alive.

Not sure it got patched in yet, but the time delay for MIRV launch was cut from 2 seconds to 1.

Actually scrap that last AEM, I forgot about bunkerbusters, I'll fire them off first to keep target out of the way of the mirvs. Although what would be nice is a missile cueing system so that as soon as a missile has it the launcher releases the next one you put in the loading area. So you can start thinking a few moves ahead...

Anyone else find it interesting that a GUNNER's GUNS are useless. The only class named specifically after weapons has undebateably the worst effectivity on weapons. It's like deploying an artillery unit with guided missiles, it makes less sense than anything else in SS...
