Post Re: Question: What would you pay massive amounts of credits for?
Since it's so easily shared this wouldn't really work or be effective in my opinion

Post Re: Question: What would you pay massive amounts of credits for?
t21 ringworld base/colonies
t22 Dyson spheres for suns

[18:20] <Hooch> Shafty what do you think about a t22 dynson sphere that you could deploy and it would encapulate a sun, be a base and give like +2k elec to every friendly in the system but was limited to 1 per player and 1 per system
[18:21] <Shaft> +2k would be pretty powerful, but the idea is cool
[18:22] <Hooch> its a pure defense base
[18:22] <Shaft> it woudnt do anything other than elec things?
[18:22] <Hooch> "uses every watt from a sun"
[18:23] <Hooch> becuse acting as a defense kit no
[18:23] <Shaft> maybe make it a 4 aug slot base where the aura gen uses a shiton of elec, so you have to use elec augs
[18:23] <Hooch> but it would be the only thing allowed to be built on a sun
[18:23] <Hooch> I was thinking of like 8 aug slots
[18:23] <Hooch> and requiring ~50b to build it
[18:24] <Hooch> cash sink and major defense at the same time
[18:25] <Shaft> eh, 8 aug slots with weapon shots prolly woudnt go through with the admins
[18:25] <Shaft> slots*
[18:25] <Hooch> find the make it 6
[18:26] <Shaft> well, testing would have to be done, could make it have interesting characs
[18:26] <Hooch> but I thought 8 would be practical sing the size of the kit would be = or > than the sun
[18:26] <Shaft> such as no energy eqiupable and it has a unique capacitor
[18:26] <Shaft> can only power with panels
[18:26] <Hooch> no the energy would be an inbuilt item
[18:26] <Shaft> or that
[18:26] <Hooch> and the energy would give the aura
[18:27] <Hooch> since the size would be so massive, surface area to hit
[18:27] <Shaft> true
[18:27] <Hooch> I thought the augs would be acceptable
[18:27] <Hooch> cause small bases orbiting a planet havfea built in doge factor
[18:28] <Hooch> this one wouldnt
[18:28] <Hooch> and would be immune from tractoring
[18:28] <Shaft> maybe hve one for dark suns and one for light suns
[18:28] <Shaft> light would give elec to friendlies
[18:28] <Shaft> dark would reduce enemie's
[18:28] <Hooch> meh
[18:29] <Hooch> I'm more infavot of like a simple absolut value function on the size of the sun = the aura output
[18:29] <Shaft> what about weapon slots? make it a support base or a combat as well
[18:29] <Hooch> both
[18:29] <Hooch> its going to be huge
[18:29] <Hooch> and will take a system abse slot
[18:30] <Hooch> by no colony
[18:30] <Hooch> the graphic would have to resize base on the sun being deployed on
[18:31] <Shaft> would be cool to make it look like some glass dome with a major station in the center
[18:31] <Shaft> being held by metal arms
[18:31] <Hooch> I was thinking of the STNG episode where the enterprise flew into a dyson sphere
[18:34] <Hooch> require an hour for the base to build(deploy) on the sun, with an animation of small flying craft buyilding it

Just spit balling the idea round.

Lol I vote we go through the 'rejected' suggestions and ask the question: "What if it cost 1 tril creds to do?"
Anyway I thought this was a good idea but it was never really looked at Tractor net fields

I want to be able to destroy a planet and then that's planets orbit gets populated by an asteroid field, think of it like the debris of the planet.

I would pay well for a base (for instance) that you attach to a planet that then blows up and blows up the planet to make an asteroid belt.

Blowing up a planet and turning it into an asteroid field sounds awesome, and certainly plausible, *except*... asteroids are hell on low-mid range computers, and if someone went and destroyed 10 planets and made a system with 10 asteroid fields, that would not be good at all.

Then make it so that you can only destroy one planet per galaxy.

Would the asteroids contain the commod on the planet? I.e. mets and nukes planet has metal roids and nuke roids. Fem planet has fem roids. Bacta planet has bacta roids?

What about "planet killers" that grind planets into cosmic matter, that can then be reassembled over time into new planets or roaming comets etc.?

A ship called Death Star who has ability to destroy planets (1 per gal). It would only work in team space to make asteroid fields, no aug slots.
Wep: Concentrated divine beam (mining type, 200-250 range). After 1 shot, for next use you need to charge it up(~ 24-48 h).

Takes 10000 Prom, 10000 E-nukes, 500000 Cyanure, 100 Dark Matter, 100 Energon, 100 Plasma Crystals, 500 Quant, 500 Vis to charge DS battery.

Costs: BP obtainable in Lyceum via missions (50 Stabilized Plasma Fusion Cores, 50 Honorary Diplomas, 20 Platinum Bars, credits 1 tril)

It should be a sticky factory then so it can properly charge the player per use. I'm still a bit worried that we'll see some team amass a whole fleet of these and just blow up an entire galaxy of planets. Wouldn't it work better as an attached kit so that base-laying rules apply?

Destroying planets sounds like a waste of resources...unless you're just going to blow up all the crappy planets. In which case you'd have to blow up about 9/10ths of them.

How about expensive utility that lets you teleport commodities between bases inside one galaxy? People would pay a crapload for something that lets them not worry about setting up slaves each universe.

And it doesn't have to be single big things either; how about smaller projects that they do a lot of? Like that pre-loaded base kits idea. If you had to pay extra money based on how big the items you wanted to load into the base, then the price could be increased a great deal and it would be convenient, so nobody would complain.

Things that are CONVENIENT. Not really overly useful.

Being able to destory planets would be a great sink if you could use it for war purposes as well as your own gain it would be funny to stop a emp run by blowing up 50 colony planets and turning them into roid belts by spending say 10 bill per planet or something

I'd pay a lot to extend the range of my warp devices, especially Sing Brake.
