Post Just started working on c2 Hyper...
So with Jey's help, we can now put arbitrary geometry into galaxies at arbitrary locations using effect objects and custom visages. I'm experimenting with hyper putting in a few layers of flat squares with colored high quality cloud textures on them, with the bottom one being at about -600 in the z axis and 4096x4096 in size as it appears in the galaxy. (Source file is 512x512 for now.)

I really like how the huge cloud texture that's far below the ecliptic makes the galaxy feel like it's part of some vast structure, and makes my ship feel really small as I'm flying through it. A picture can't really do it justice, but here it is anyway, just in case anyone is interested.

This is actually very interesting. Could you possibly look into massive clouds that block out all of the stars? Something that makes you feel like your flying in a big spherical nebula. 'The walls are closing in' type stuff.

Oy Jeff, can you check how "distant" solar system would look like?
I mean they are usually or even always on the same height as player ships, I wonder how would they look like far bellow, at -5000 z axis or even more.

The Fuzz still looks too flat. Maybe raise and lower(above and below on Z axis) the "Cab" part in the center?

Other than that and the stars still visible, it looks good.

Also, maybe add a small solar system(incorporating that moon that orbits the other moon) and a series of mission chains based on the area?

Those ships look like 2d images stretched and inclined, seriously something is completely fucked up with rendering. It looks the same as if some1 just put them into photoshop or gimp and used perspective tool, lacks of depth of ship.

No i played c2 so that is why i told u not to worry about ship images - they are not done ...
