You people are weird about the thinness. I don't get it at all. The police look totally fine to me, but maybe that's because I've seen them in the game, so am not seeing them with the same eyes as people just seeing the screenshots.

The issue is that you're used to seeing them from the actual side. Most humans are used to adding a good deal of depth to the image if it's implied 3d in a 2d world.

Imagine looking at a Toyota Car from a bird's eye view, but find out when you look at the side, it's not the 4-4.5feet tall, but rather 6 inches tall. Thats what the vast majority of the SS p2p are thinking when looking at most if not all the c2 ship images.

Exactly. Jeff's clearly not used to thinking of the ships with the same depth that most of us do.

I wasn't aware that skinning could make it possible to dynamically collapse or resize the chat box (if those features are not already programmed in).

Well, for one thing, we're not prepared nor have the time to deal with compatibility issues right now. Probably as many as 20% of people will have issues, then they will be pissed that they can't play it. Another is that I don't want people to play it when it's still pretty far from being done and pretty buggy, and then not be as excited about it.

It will be soon, though. We're making very rapid progress these days.

Basically lately I have been working to polish up the gui. We had allot of good elelments in there, but it required someone to go all OCD on the pixel level. Just a sreenie of the colony tab. I recycled some old c1 stuff for some of the tabs so you can have a bit of nostalgia when you dock, though ofc there will be some new stuff for you too. I think you guys will really be impressed with the GUI, there is so much you cant see just looking in the normal gameplay window.
