Re: Star Sonata 2 Pre-Alpha Developer Zebucart Brawl 2010
I think the Bulk's containers spin too fast, I thought it was going to be a slow graveful spin, not washing machine spin cycle.
But, I absolutely love the way the ships turn, it looks really dynamic the way they bank when someone pulls a tight 360 turn.

Re: Star Sonata 2 Pre-Alpha Developer Zebucart Brawl 2010
Right now the bulk trader line of ships are running as animated models, and the animations aren't exactly perfect. The goal eventually is to actually break them up into pieces and then animate them ourselves in the game. It will be a lot better performance-wise, and also give us a ton of flexibility.

Hey Jeff,a long while ago in a separate C2 topic I believe you spoke about how some ships will have a travel form and a battle form. Is that still going to be implemented?

If you guys want, I can replace that crappy FL Slayer/DVS guitar with some real guitar in the song that had it.

Yeah I couldnt hear any of the talking, the sound of Peashooters was too loud so I turned the volume down.
I really love the way the ships bank when turning, it looks fantastic.

The sheer size of the bulk trader next to the zebus looked great. I love watching these videos. Even the effect when a ship blows up and goes into stasis is cool.

Re: Star Sonata 2 Pre-Alpha Developer Zebucart Brawl 2010
I have Fraps on one of my slower computers. If i can find my old Youtube accounts i'll post links. I've used Windows Movie Maker before and know how to edit stuff. It's been a while though so i could be rusty. It's not very hard to learn again though.
I can't find any videos. I spent like half a hour searching.

Re: Star Sonata 2 Pre-Alpha Developer Zebucart Brawl 2010
I believe thats why they're not showing off any high tech ships. Because those ships look fairly boring when they're not firing, and they might not have the whole transfformation sequence worked out yet.

The Zebucarts did have a combat form where they would extrude spikes kind of like they were made of liquid metal, but it's pretty extreme and we decided to leave that for the Zebumaster. But a lot of ships do have travel form and combat form. Probably about a quarter of them in all, and about a quarter have constant animations. Eventually, we might add animated textures or phasing glow maps, things like that, to the rest.

Looks pretty cool , but just one question: is the banking amount scaled with turning rate?
