Installed the new beta client on my windows 7 partition of my beat up old macbook pro. It froze twice but unfroze a few seconds later. Don't know if it's my computer or the client but it never did that before, or I never noticed. Overall though the performance seems better.

Same result here.

What does it say about me that I am each one of these things? (Linux on netbook, beastly desktop pc, and my macbook pro used for both final cut and then my windows partition for portable gaming).

Is there any way at all that the updater can be told to ignore some graphics and sound files even if they don't match up with the hashes. I have deleted the no scoop sound and changed the wing4 graphic. Will i have to redo these changes every time a client patch happens?

I could see this being very annoying for people who have any of the customized UIs.

there is no way no. what i suggest, is that you make a little script you can simply run after patching that redelete / update your stuff.

yea, for instance, you could make a folder in your starsonata named skin. and just make a "apply skin" batch file that copy everything from that folder over your ss folder (hence reapplying your skin). as for the deleted files, well, the command del should do all you need.

i believe c2 include a skinning system so to speak. its built in such a way that you can add new skins and not overwrite the default one. but c1 just cant easily be modified to do that.

currently ss dir has directory structure of:
./cache
./img/
./snd/

how about making another dir, (named 'custom' perhaps) with same structure and then the client would look for content in those dirs ?

if custom shiz exists, use it, otherwise use default ? :)

How long should it take to hash? I've had this running for about 8 minutes and it's still going. I can't help but wonder if something is wrong with it. Anyone having the same problem? It's updating from the last patch.

It's still doin' it. Keeps wanting to upload the hash set, and once it's finished..It starts right back over again in an endless loop.
