Post Mid level Freighters

Size comparison between Orca, Porpoise and Selenologica.

  • T14 Freighter named the Turtle - AI station
  • T15 Freighter name the Turtle+ - AI station
  • T16 Freighter named the Orca - Mission
  • T17 Freighter named the Orca+ - ? For players to discover
  • T19 Freighter named the Testudo - ? For players to discover
  • Inbuilt items on all hulls
  • Resists "old school" style with holes and some being better vrs certain AI than others
  • As a variant on the usual them, + gives a bonus to tech level rather than stats - we'll see how this plays out on testing

These are "combat" based freighters, and as such follow the Pax distribution of speed / hulls with the Pax ships (Selenologica in particular) being better in a one-to-one hull tech equivalence; Selenologica has 4 augs which these ships certainly do not have.

As an added bonus, something that people will never notice, but I slightly tinted the Porpoise so that it no longer disappears totally into deep space, but retains a tiny discernible colouration so that you can see what you're flying.

I have to say Aurora, this is the quickest most decisive action thats come out of the Admin Cloud since... well... ever!

I will definitely be looking forward to these ships.

New mid-range freighters were on the list that Pip posted in June; I've taken note of this as a priority, and am working through the ones I can.

As for quick... well, my part in Olympus is done, and this was a nice bite size bit of content before I tackle The Mausoleum upgrade, Bounty Hunters and some other ancient unfinished content such as the Titan Mining chain, Junkyards and Blue Pirates. Uber Urqa zone is another matter, just reading the content doc takes a couple of hours ;)

Awww I just wanna make sure that a class that has been in the game for a while gets it's beef. I like the idea of new content of course but shouldn't problems that are already in order be changed first (yes I know there arnt many snipers and new content will keep other players in the game)

epic :P very epic lol. there nice dm ships for lower lvls. but seing as there freighters. they can use missles making them not bad gunner slaves. however i think selens are still a tiny bit better. however it depends who you are fighting. as selens are week to mining where as orca's are not, however orca's are week to surgical.

also im not sure about the plus version but the normal one only has one weap slot. which kinda sucks for slaves that mainly use weapons to kill things. they are a more missle bassed and fighter bassed ship. if you ever did turn them into slaves. Although i would probs just keep using them for DM ships because how cheap they are and they give drone bonuses.
