Just something I'm trying out on test server -- if you're close to an object that explodes, you'll get knocked away by the blast.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

I am only seeing a significant kick upon ai death from the concussion.

However the missile explosions are pushing missiles away from the ai, in effect pushing the missiles off course, rendering them useless.

Yeah I understand that, but this will pretty much destroy gunner class.

sounds cool :P are you planning on extending it past things that just die?



Could we have a "Thumper" drone that gives out these explosion concussions like 500-1k range?

Different techs would have different ranges and concussion strengths :P

imo it'd be an interesting tool and, if strong enough a great solution to some of the problems DMs have in PvP but especially DGing.

This will ruin Gunner class please just scrap this idea and put the time towards client 2 maybe? I can see my EFBC slaves now taking about 10 mins to kill anything because missiles constantly get hit by say torps and blow up and knock everything around.This idea is fail.

If you had a gunner you would know that we cant sit ontop since the min launch range is supposed to be 50 but it is like 65

The knockback is basically just the mass of the target that blows up knocking against anything in the blast radius with a proportional impact modifier of 1/distance^2. I haven't tried it with missiles yet, but I imagine they have pretty low mass so wouldn't do that much except against small ships. As I said, try it out and let me know. Please don't comment if you haven't tried it yet.

Mays well not have a gunner class i guess. This would be a huge nerf to gunner, i went onto test, it took double the time to kill a forgone then it usually would, if it doesnt affect missiles, then you should add it :P

I don't really see this as a nerf to gunners. Obviously they are broken with missile spammage - however this is just a nice little bonus that can be added to make the game more realistic.

Gunners should step off their high horses? Stop thinking the game is all about you. I highly doubt this was put it in, just to screw gunners up. Jeff_L said himself he hadn't tested missiles yet - Do you really think he'd announce a some-what nerf to gunners without first testing it?

It may or may not affect gunners. If it does effect gunners in the way described, so what? It'll mean you'll have to Change your set-ups?

I'm sure there are gunners out there - possibly HF gunners that use weapons more than missiles - and just have them as an after thought.
