Post Suggestions for items
Im working on some new bosses (currently 3, might become more later) and to motivate people into actually fighting them I want some new items for them to drop.

So what Im looking for is suggestions on a specific item that you feel the game is lacking or that would be good/fun to have.

You dont have to make up complete stats or anything, just some rough idea of what you would like it to be. Like for example high bank/low regen stealth shield (might already exist, just a example).

I dont really want to make class locked gear, it doesnt really fit with the kind of content Im making. Especially not sniper gear.

Capital ship only gears? i think i can count the number of capship only items on one hand... auras, fighterbays, the capship CR, capital lasers, and the capship hull expander.
So, capship only rad weapon? capship shield with high bank low regen? capship energy... yeah dunno if we need another unless its gonna be between CR and capship CR in stats (or, if you're feeling generous, above capital CR :P ) Capital... charger? overloader? UZ has those for all other types except capship.
Other ideas... nope, im out for now. cheers.

Well its hard to make items that would drop from a boss without knowing a little about the boss and what kind of classes would work best against them.

but to throw a couple more out there,

shield vamps (not a whole lotta damage but a shm could use it to outlast most opponents)

Engines that can boost you up to 200% speed, but the direction it thrusts rotates thus making it impossible to ap with.

Better pest controls of all kinds, including fire extinguishers. But make them have downsides, so you cant just leave them on all the time. Like massive elec costs, or something.

Doing so would allow for the introduction of much more powerful parasites, such as huge fires, and also make it so basil spit can actually be eaten before it eats you.

How about shields that give resists to certain damage types? An extra diffuser, essentially.

i might think of more later.

Bule Stethl: beefed to T19. Same Damage as PFang, no Eth, 100% more Elect.
Bule Abadi Stethl: T20, Same Damage as PFang, Eth, 50% more Elect.

Flame of Prometheus: T20 Sniper design weapon, 3 second recoil, 3x damage of rop, 1.5x the range.

Mzungu Mega-Mini Mobilizer: T14 Stealth Engine. More powerful(3x) than T15 Bana, but 2x the vis and 2x the size.
Bule Darkness: T18 Stealth Engine. 7k thrust, 2k turning, 150 Size. +10% Range.

Cathedral Gates: T19 Stealth Shield. More bank than Hell's Gate, more regen, way less Elect. +10% Range. Heavy Fighter.
Rotten Basil Sheath: T19 Stealth Shield. Commod drops at Halloween. Built from 1 BMS. 18k bank instead of 12k. 2x the size.

DeathFlamedOver: T15 SD only weapon. DHO stats, but Large Fires. Built from 5 DHO.

Deltrimeradon: T20 Sniper Ship as a rare BP drop from actual roaming Delquads. Classified as on par with a Panther for a SD. 1 Use per BP.

Capital Ion Justice: T20 Non Fuel Capship only Energy. Basically an unfueled CR with a small bonus to shield bank. Built from 3 GIJ and 3 CR's.
Capital Voltage Array: T20 E-Nuke Fueled Capship only Energy. Very Powerful. Lots of Bank, very Heavy Regen for massive Size(600+) and insane weight(well over 4 million). Gives -Elect Temp, +Range, and +Damage.

Hive Carrier: T20 Capship. BP dropped from Hives. Wasp Remains as a periodic Commod. Designed as a Carrier. 1 Wep, 2 Aug. Graphical Size is slightly smaller than actual Hives, and color is tinted a bit more yellow. Focused on insane bank, and average resist. Contains a 6 slot fighter bay.

Weapons!!!

KaBoomerang, a mag with furtherance and good tracking and range. The idea is you fire a ton at your enemy and they swarm about dealing damage every time they cross over the target. A physical damage type would be awesome as it would knock the target about in all directions and the crit effect would just be awesome annoying as 10 or so shots accumulate on the target.

Fueled weapons, low-medium recoil, high damage, long range, low tracking beam weapons. Concept is basically a chemical laser or a particle beam that would require a commodity to fire at a decent rof.

Some new missile types. Perhaps one that acts as 3 projectiles per missile that fan out so they might not all get killed by the collision code. When i think missiles in space I think just a crazy amount of them like MFed excomms or something. Need some new launchers for HF, LF and Freighter. A nuke missile that has high shields and high damage and splash but you can only carry one at a time.

A doomsday weapon that just sends out a wave of damage in all directions with like a 30 sec recoil. Would be awesome in pvp.

Some more dual damage type weapons would be cool, ones that combine interesting crit effects.

Do physical beam weapons have knock back? if not make an ohl like one that does.

I want to see a tech 20 love cylinder drone that has medium shields and a large energybank with low regen, but enough to power the shields.

Besides Fueled Chemical Lasers, Ammo requiring Artillery*, Rail Guns*, and Lasers like Star Trek. We have missiles, missile crates, and missile factories.

*How hard is it to make a hotkeyed gun with a set recoil do that?
