 Re: New review of SSAs far as I know Australasia is a continent, which includes New Zealand and some of those islands to the north of it...
So Australia is a country/state that is completely surrounded by water, making it an island. Antarctica is owned by many nations, and is also surrounded by land, which does not make it an island. Otherwise half the world would be classed as an island (all that bit including Europe, Africa, the Middle east and Asia is one giant land mass made of various continents and completely surrounded by water.).
