The old thread was getting a little unorganised, so I decided to post this new one.

Here are a few random screenshots to kickstart the topic (Some of which were already posted elsewhere):

Now this one here was a WTF moment, a glitch in our code caused this to occur:



Sadly it's only a glitch and no plans to include this "green supernova" have been made so far.

A certain player (who prefers to be named "scales" for now) helped us touch up some of the Earthforce ships with a brand new engine design (10,000+ horsepower! ):

A player suggested once to make the green rods glow, so I had a go at that:



It doesn't look too bad except I may tone it down a bit in the final release.

After getting a few positive replys about the new engine design of the cap ships (People seem to like the engines and nothing else ), I thought I'd reveal another treat "scales" has been working on for us. This ship was the one that originally inspired the design of the engines themselves. Remember those Star Sonata banner ads with those cool ships that you could never find in game? Yep



It's not 100% finished, and we don't actually have a place for it in game content-wise (T21 ship?) but I thought the initial design looked very promising.

A lot of people have been requesting Space Blues, so here are a series of shots of SBA and SBP (Prototype) going at it:

It's been a bit of a dry spell lately in the updates department ever since we started the UI conversion. I decided I'll show you a new feature that I think most people will appreciate more than the graphics upgrades, window resizability!

Recent screenshot from Star Sonata 2.

You can see the items in the command bar, with indications of whether they are equipped and how many of them. You can also see the tooltip for the adum's almost blocker which I'm hovering over with my mouse.

My Ragnorak slave is in the same galaxy. I had just ordered him to guard a position to my right and he's acknowledging that he's arrived. I also have his inventory open which I can manipulate while flying around. I can change his equipment, toss things, and even use the new right-click interface to tell him to pick up debris, so we can transfer items back and forth without needing to dock.

(This is on my laptop and I turned AA off.)
