Re: Comments about Pre-Alpha Video 2
Um, the radar has mysteriously disappeared. In other words, it's toggle-able but someone made the button that used to toggle it do something else and we haven't gotten a new icon to toggle it yet as our graphic designer is apparently having technical difficulties with his laptop.

Re: Comments about Pre-Alpha Video 2
just outta curiousity, what kind of multi-monitor support will C2 have? the current client is pretty lousy; on the second monitor there is not text, many effects, likc cloaking, engines, and particles, are misaligned, and the mousclicks are shoved over to one side of the screen.

Re: Comments about Pre-Alpha Video 2
If you're playing windowed mode and you just stretch a window across multiple monitors, I assume it should work pretty well. We are using a somewhat well developed graphics engine for C2, whereas C1 is a mashup of MFC and directX. One disadvantage with C2 is that you can't drag dialogs out of the main window like you can with C1.

I'm pretty good with graphics, I'd be happy to make said icon.

Re: Comments about Pre-Alpha Video 2
I love the music, it is so much better than the current noise.
Could you consider making the planets more realistic in relation to their type? Eg gaseous planets should be big, planets with oats should be green etc. Planets with atmospheres should show them.

Re: Comments about Pre-Alpha Video 2
Planets with atmosphere do show it. You can see the clouds at the end of the previous C2 video. Gaseous doesn't affect size because in SS, size is based on gravity and Gaseous is independent of that.

It should be hot = close to the sun, normal = medium distance, frozen = far distance/no sun. Will anything like this be done?

Re: Comments about Pre-Alpha Video 2
It is like that, but different types of sun have different temperatures. Obviously nothing is to scale, but I did have my old astronomy textbook out while writing the planet type randomization code. When the planet type is being generated, the type is heavily favored to be based on the type of sun and the distance to the sun.

Re: Comments about Pre-Alpha Video 2
I understand that nothing is scale, but this is pretty bad off. Maybe the class G sun gives off that low of heat? That everything even the closest planet would still be frozen.
