So..

We cant use the same tactic that boxed us in?

Quite ironic.. Kinda like when we boxed Traders out of Lyceum.. then they made a way around it.. but when we weren't allowed in.. nothing happened.

The fact that certain teams can get away with something right before it's changed shows the kind of hit-and-miss rule enforcement that SS has.

So, Pip, what Traders/Toxic did like 4 days ago is okay, but if we do the same, it will be considered an exploit?

And.. if we wait 24 hours after a declaration of war, can we BvB then?

The reason we will add these rules is so that things like the ones that happened to you would not happen again. Its ok that they did it 4 days ago cause it wasn't against the rules at that point. You guys can still BvB them back since I assume you don't have to move your HQ for that?

PS... are you asking for admin interference? :o

The reason we will add these rules is so that things like the ones that happened to you would not happen again. Its ok that they did it 4 days ago cause it wasn't against the rules at that point. You guys can still BvB them back since I assume you don't have to move your HQ for that?

Yea with both teams declared Unlimted Base killing range, for Pvb and BvB, but still leave a pvp range for Pvp? Sounds fine...

Well i dont think there allied anymore, Or else Zeph wouldnt of took that :P

Can I just say that I'm really sick of the game changing on short notice? It's not fair to be constantly changing the dynamics.

And with this change could we also get the ability to pvb with the outpost? PLEASE?

The neighboring galaxies are owned by Shields.

And I'm agreeing with BD it's not exactly fair to us to say "you can't do it now, it's now an exploit" after they used it to setup a complete, ongoing blockade of DM space.

From what I've heard, they checked to make sure it was ok before doing it, so why was it allowed in the first place, if it was going to be deemed an exploit?

Did i read it wrong it looked to me i could declare on a alt team then surrender to it leaving my main team unable to be warred for the rest of that uni ?.

You will only be protected from the war by your alt team, and only until you are paying them the tithe.

To be done ASAP (note that until this is done, the future laying of an HQ to BVB will be deemed an exploit):

Declaration of War (DoW) will take 24 hours to take effect. It is announced to both teams that there has been a declaration and how many hours until it takes effect. Reciprocal DoW's can be immediate and if done during the 24 hour wait time, can immediately start the war. Thus if team A wants to start stuff with team B, team B can choose any earlier start time it wants during that first 24 hours, allowing it to preemptively counter-attack neighboring galaxies.
BvB in an owned galaxy requires
a current active DoW from the team deploying the base in the owned galaxy and
the adjacent owned galaxy must have been owned for 24 hours before deployment in the victim's galaxy



This all sounds good on paper Pip.. But as with all changes to the game there is bound to be room for improvement. Take for example the current war between Core and Zephyr. Core is running this war soley for the chance to hit Zephyr in PvP in open space. Not to mention the number of runs that have been ruined by team Core. No i am not whining about it, Core runs a good PvP team hats off to the tactics used agenst us. But now you are saying for us to take the fight to them Zephyr is going to have to connect to their galaxy. To do that we will have to war every team between us and them. After all Core is located in the far north reaches of wild space and Zephyr is located in the far south reaches of wild space. Personally i feel that is a bit stupid to assume that any team can accomplish this task. There has to be a better option for 2 teams that are allready at war. So as it appears you are trying to make this game somewhat realistic let me run this by you. Currently in the Millitary of the United States and any country that truley has a Millitary they all have a HQ that is located in their home country ( Example: The Pentigon). I see that you say that we could demo our HQ to move it for BvB pourposes. But i ask you when was the last time they destroyed the Pentagon to wage war in another country. I can not recall a single time that has happened. But they have established Outposts that they have expanded their hold with. So i see a simple solution - you allready have the outposts in the game - just allow a limited amount of expantion out from them. 3 or 4 connection points would be more than fair. Then if further expantion is needed there would need to be something else in game such as a forward command allowing 1 -2 more points. You allready have the limit for a max # of outposts set at 1 and that is fine. but if you chose to include a forward command that should be limited as well to 3 one each for the team director and councillers. A setup like this would allow for any 2 teams to wage total war with each other without dragging teams that want nothing to do with it into the frey.

Once the patch goes in Klor, you guys can use any tactic you want including moving your HQ or having someone else build an HQ for you since the other side will get a fair warning of what is happening.
