Hey guys,

Today we mostly talked about our progress on C2 and such.
We've got multiselection mostly finished in the inventory, with our new C2 coder (Dorth) putting the finishing touches on that.
BlindSide has finished his first iteration on lasers and is moving on to Bumpmapping for the 3D models, which will make them look great in the higher end graphics settings.
I'm going to be porting some of the map and guest changes from C1 to C2 so that C2 will be completely up to date with C1.
HAL has been making the server changes necessary for the above to work in C2 and will be continuing this for the foreseeable future.

We hope to get a new video out soon to show some of the cool stuff coming in C2. We'd like to get a bit more polish on the current work before that happens.

f that, just release a new video every time you make something new, no matter how dumb it looks...will give a nice progression sequence for us to stare at...

Dorth huh? You could have had a better name :P but good to hear but I have a question. Will C2 work on Vista without any problems?

In a perfect world, Vista wouldn't exist. But i'm sure efforts will be made to make c2 as compatible as possible across as many viable platforms as possible.

By the time C2 has released, nobody will probably be using Vista, anyway...we'll all be using Windows 7...or Windows 100 maybe :p

This is one thing about SS you should not keep shrouded in mystery i think. Since it is a drastic change to the game graphics wise if you just pump it up with little previews then many people would leave. giving the playerbase a large array of videos and pictures would better acclimatise us to the fact that that is what it will be.

We're going to open up BS's development log soon, which includes screenshots and videos of progress as he makes it. I'll let you know when that happens.

You shouldnt pay much attention to make it playable on vista it should work on XP .Noone uses vista anyway and in a year new windows are out ...

The game is perfectly playable on vista. And I am sure a good portion of the people playing use a vista machine. If it is not compatible I think loosing a third of their subs might not be an over estimate.

Do you seriously think moving to a newer version of Direct X will make it less compatible with Vista?
