Enigmatic Sector, Ancient Ruins, and Paxians.
I've been dropping subtle hints as to what exactally I'm working on, and I figure it's time to start a discussion about it, since it will include some major content additions. Anyway.
I've been putting together a very 'star trek like' adventure that is targeted at level 350-500 that involves temporal spacial anomolies, time travel, and the Paxians. You'll finally get a look at what really happened to the ancient races, and a chance to visit the home sectors of some of them. With this fairly large mission dungeon comes the following changes.
A full set of Paxian ruins spread randomly at the start of the universe, just like the Faranji, Mzungu, et cetra have. They're weighted to be twice as rare as a normal ruin and will have a myriad of items tech level 7-17 targeted at Merchants, Station Masters, exploration in general, and boast a pair of ships that will be more than suitable for any class. This isn't the big change coming though.
The big change is 4 sets of 'Ancient Ruins' for each of the major extinct races. These items will be extremely rare (slightly more rare than the UrQa ruins to be exact), extremely powerful (no items below tech 16 and weighted to be in line with the new Solarian equipment), and will require an unlearnable skill to use. Unlearnable, so once you choose which of these 4 ruins to use you can't reverse that change, so the ruins are exclusive. This is what I'd like feedback on the most, as well as potential items. Currently, I have one tech 18-19 ship per race, and a few misc. items (Faranji Energy X, Vahaza Defender, Mzungu Trading Warfare, et cetra).
So feedback on exclusive ruins and item suggestions are appreciated.

Great ideas but currently to detect UrQa ruins you need a badass scanner that costs a lot to make it kinds of put pressure on smaller teams who cant afford such scanners to find them i just detect another monopoly for pants

Can you please add some content for 100-300?
I mean, higher levels can do Infernal Tempest and Tortuga but we low guys cant do much of anything.

WoW! I love the thought of all these new items, I think its a great idea, it will benefit all the 300+ players easy, even if designed to about lvl 500, i can see this being a big improvemtn in the game.

Hey, Cael, does this mean I'll be seeing Constellation Class? That'd be cool, but if you do damn it, I'd like it to be the Original Enterprise shape

Sounds really cool, but the ruins HAVE to be visible with like power 4 maybe even 3 planet scanner, not just the UBBER detection thingy that pants and caps only have or something... cuz that'd be rather stupid...
I love the idea of merchant and station master stuff (I'm merchant, alt is station master ^^) also the Faranji X and other items + ships sound awesome

But ALMOST ALL Infernal Tempest and Tortuga rewards suck ass, and the Constable sucks ass.
They need to make the ship smaller.

Well, being that I've only seen about 1 or 2 ur'qa ruins in buildable galaxies since I've started looking (two unis), I think making them more rare is overdoing it a little... With all this new content, I'd like to see changes to the frequency of ruins... This uni especially, the ruins across the board have been utter crap... Many ruins getting only 1 item, sometimes 2... The Ur'Qa ruins this uni had only 1 item, a 600m tech 15 stealth radar whos only advantage over the others of its class is its size... Pretty much a junk ruin... I've got a faranji ruin with 3 items which noone would ever use, I had a vazaha ruin with 1... The point is, if these ruins are going to be exceptionally rare, then I think the other ruin items (including Ur'Qa) should be made to be a little more common... Even if the number of ruins are not increased, the average number of items per ruin should be... 1 item per ruin is ridiculous... Minimum of 2, normal should be 4, and max 6 in my opinion...
As for the idea on making the ruin items exclusive to each other, I think thats an excellent idea... Gives people more choice in how to build a character at the higher levels, which is always a good thing. Just make sure a skill reset will also reset this 'exclusivity'.
Seriously though, this new content sounds awesome, I can't wait.
