I think so far everyone would agree on removing the base range cap, instead of nerfing tractors. I'd agree with this as well.

No removing base range cap is a wrong idea .
To have "insane tractor range" you need to invest 6 ada sheet + ship commod +10 bil creds + gear (and you still can use only low lvl tractors cos no setting can power anything biggger ) . All that for ship you can use just for one situation (pvb) and only on drones or unattached bases , it is useless for anything else . You know how long you need to pull ambro or quafir drone 1k distance ? and if you have someone defending the place and pulling back it is next to impossible .

Yes, it takes over an hour. but the problem is not the fact that it's expensive, the fact is that jeff doesn't want it to happen at all.

Why not ? It is just one more annoying thing you can do during pvb . It will not give you unfair advantage or anything .
There are so many things wrong with this game atm and so many OP things in it . After 2 or 3 years Jeff has a real update with real new content (not just old one reshuffled ) and among 15 good things he puts one crapy one in . Why not just postpone that part ? or make it 10k range cap or postpone it ? If you can leave EAA , stealth SDs , crapy colision code , ass behemont ship , ada rad fields , titan drones ,lvl 100 agro bases , lvl 200 ambro drones , mikkel etc in game then certain there is room for uber tractor use

Not to mention if your pulling a base and some numb skull is spamming gravs...it has taken us over 12 hours to pull out one base. How is that broken? If it takes 12 hours..

not really a comment on anything here, but the pulling it back thing usually doesn't work to well. Especially if they do have the ada augs =P. Honestly pulling out can be done in base range too, for doubters. You need a resist dread, or whatever anything but the tractor shrimp in front to block shots. The grav dis things on bases i just learned about this uni, really all it did was per-long things. Wouldn't be sad to see that go. Really tweaks and stuff should not effect the base but the person in them...

I'll go back latter and read through and maybe respond to a few =/.

I'd expect something like "Paxian Galactica" or whatever would fit in much better with the current Paxian ship line (Prismatica - Celestica - Selenologica - Astronomica) then "Battlefrigate", which just sounds...ew. There is a difference between the exploration vessels that the Paxians used and retrofitted for combat, and the Paxian Fleet.

It also sounds in line:
Battlefrigate
Battlecruiser
Battleship

I will hope this will be the eventual case, as the Humans have 6 capships(7 if Ismail is a human).

The use of naval terms within an actual war fleet makes it seem more combat ready and intimidating to the enemy. Battleship sounds a lot meaner than Galactica.

The Great White Fleet was a splendid American Battleship Fleet that sailed on a worldwide trip to promote peace and aid. However, in contract, while it may have looked powerful, each an every ship were outdated.

HMS Dreadnought was launched 3 years ago and made all Pre-Dreadnoughts, which included the Great White Fleet, obsolete in one stroke. The British fleets were beginning to adopt a more modern(and steel gray coloring) militaristic look in the eyes of the world.
