You're not being forced to 'camp.' Since the drops are randomly global you should find them as you go about your normal business.

There is an issue with the Grinch being Grinchy and not dropping loot. I'm fixing it as I type this. He should be dropping up to 3 unique items and a whole truckful of holiday loot.

By the way, what I'd really like is feedback on the Astro-Grinch's difficulty. And thank you for those who've given constructive feedback. It is useful.

I attempted Astro-Grinch with a high level ShM, Engineer and Berserker.

He was 1-shotting the Berserker when he tweaked with his Achilles Pulses[?] doing over 80k mining damage, based off the 'zerker's resists and shield bank.

I lost a great deal of GG in multiple attempts, and a few drones.

Why must event content only be aimed at those who are at the top of the game?
I think I wrote a similar thing with the halloween event..

Make the encounters difficult in a way other than complete overkill.
>80k mining damage per shot, + not being able to move out the way due to that annoying aura, isn't fun.

Suggestions of interesting event content i'd have liked to see:
- Santa has turned against humanity, and is delivering a bombs instead of presents to Earth!
Players would have to get in their speedy ships, and stop Santa's ship from travelling from a set starter galaxy [with a lockout, not a 12 hr respawn] to Sol. Santa would be very fast, and have a lot of bank, and be unable to be targeted by bases.
- Missions! Missions are fun!
e.g. Collect some of those useless Christmas commodities to turn in for random tweaks. Everyone loves more tweaks, and less useless commods.
- Holiday blueprints to items / ships that take uncommon holiday commodities. They wouldn't have to be more powerful.

e.g. Santa's Freighter
Image - Christmasy version of the Dark Freighter
Same stats as the Dark Freighter - Maybe with a different inbuilt item, to make it more Christmassy.
Would take decaying commodities looted along with the other xmas commodities instead of dark remains - and require a blueprint from a Christmas [lockout] uber to start.

The Christmas even is ok, it's my first one that I've been P2P in, and it was a let down. No Missions, or a base in sol, it was dissapointing compared to the awesomeness of Halloween.

+ I've been DGing all day and got bugger all loot from DF300ish DGs..

As for a speedy santa, that is a bit silly. I mean, think about it, you Everyone has to get in their 'traveling ship', for most SD's that's their Fighting/PvP ship. You said he had a large bank, well how's anyone gonna kill it except and SD. Yay more SD content. -.-

But I really do like the frighter idea.

i am very disapointed with this xmas event. i was expaecting the game to look like xmas. everything looks the same :(. no extra gals, a roaming boss, no missions, Lots of useless crap, no presents flaoting around :(, and platties dont drop anything now :(.

all of these things should be added. Xmas should be fun not just an ordenairy day in SS hell make all the planets look snowy :D, make ai look like xmas put grean red and blue glowing lights like you see on houses, add a butt load of xmas ai, now xmas will be fun

The speedy santa idea was just an idea of the type of thing that could be done.
Even different types of event for different classes. If the admins had the time.

The speedy-santa type thing could be altered to involve some sort of other event.

e.g. SDs chase after Santa, and try to kill his Rein-rats, whilst other players work on doing other things within the same galaxy.
Such as killing 'elves' or something that try to heal Santa and his rats.

Anyway... was just an idea, not intented to be a suggestion for actual content.

Ah, well that sounds GREAT! Aslong as there's something for every class, and requires atleast 1 decent leveled person from each focus(4 people) to do.

I have yet to found the Grinch, even after hours of searching perilous space.

Even if I did find it tho, I hear the difficulty of the uber is even harder then emp, this ensures the boss is hard and only the big teams can do them, leaving smaller teams behind, unable to get the special loot.

I would also like some Grinch loot, I would suggest making him atleast 2-3 manable, maybe lower the drop rate by a bit and increase the spawn of the AI, and make him spawn in random gals to avoid camping.

Or maybe allow the Grinch gear to be obtainable just like the Unholy gear at haloween.
