Post Diablo III
Would anyone mind explaining what all the fuss is about? I'm not hating on the game, i've just no real idea what it is and my research fails to shed light on that. Though I did read the back story to Diablo I & II and really enjoyed it, but why is the entire population of the internet obsessed with this game?

Because it's a sequel of two GREAT games and has been in production for... well fucking forever it seems.

I played the open beta weekend and its just plain fucking awesome. Pro-tip, Monk is the new dual wielding Barbarian.

I loved Diablo II to death, I had a dual wielding barbarian kicking ass through the entire game, and boy I stayed up late to get those adrenaline shocks. For some reason I doubt I am going to play Diablo III, I am still too busy with exploring how Skyrims different classes and aspects can enlighten me with new ways to look at the entire game. So yeah, give me some idea of why I should play Diablo III so I at least know what I miss out on!

The Diablo series was pretty groundbreaking in its genre. The second game in particular was just very well designed, with an amazing sound track and wonderfully gothic and mysterious landscapes. I think the series just strikes a really good balance between RPG and arcade shooter, with an emphasis on rare item collection. The third installment is the most multiplayer-oriented yet, while hopefully still staying true to the general style of the series.

It's not everyone's cup of tea but has a very solid base of fans, I would say.

The skill system has been changed a bit but still gives you a GREAT deal of customization. The way its designed also allows for on the fly re-specing with just a couple second delay in the skill becoming usable.

The action bar is a bit different and a couple other changes, like the blacksmith is levelable and you can dismantle items for materials to make your own through him.

I played the open beta like I said and though it was just the first act I loved it just as much as I did D2. All things considered, it was well worth the wait.
